difference between base and GT exhausts?

Seems like there are two different exhausts offered by every manufacturer (Borla, Thermal, etc). What is the difference between the base and GT systems? Different layouts, mounting points, exits? Anyone know?

I could be wrong, and probably am, but the only difference between the GT and base is that the base has 2 CATs. The mounting points and the pipe diameters are the same.

The only difference I am aware of is the routing of the exhaust on the AWD Vibe. It has to bend around the rear drive components and results in the 7 HP loss vs. the base 2 wheel drive.

Huh. So is the muffler different? What if I tried to put a GT-specific exhaust on a base Vibe?

I will let you know. A good friend of mine is the head manager at a local Pep Boys store. I asked him to check into a Flowmaster 60 series muffler for me and reminded him that my Vibe is a GT in case there is a difference.

Alright. I talked to a Borla vendor, and he told me the muffler and tip are the same, but the exhaust pipe path (from the cats) are different between the two models... can anybody else verify this with a base and GT side to side (like at a dealership or something)? Thanks all.Pete

Well, Borla should have an exhaust for the AWD Vibe by the springtime, so save yer greenbacks...
