this past weekend, i went to there to have them change out the fluid in my front and rear diffs. i waited for half an hour in the hot (removed) weather and after sitting there over the pit for about 20 minutes, they come up and tell me they don't have the tool to remove the drain plugs. they said even if they did, they didn't think they could get to it to refill the fluid. that bites my (removed)! are they full of crap, or is it really that difficult?

Just wondering, how many miles do you have on your AWD?

They are full of crap, and I think it's a 24mm socket -- nothing special about it. If I were you, I'd pick up a set of jackstands and do it yourself. Much cheaper, and you can upgrade the lube to something like redline, royal purple, AMSoil, etc.

if you can change your own oil, you can change pretty much any other liquid on the car. I just did my engine coolant last month, not a big deal.

Total BS that they made you wait but they also lost out on a sale... Easy to do procedure... Probably did not have the fluid, my guess that is.Add approximately 0.8 liters (0.85 qts) of 80W-90 GL5 lubricant or equivalent
