Im not sure who has the unothodox but i know lancer has a pulley for something.... I think the thing was they are only recommended for a 1zz engine aka base vibe or awd vibe as the gt (2zz engine) will blow the water pump or oil pump using it..As for install I've just heard they are a pain in the (removed) to get off, you need like a ton of leverage.

wow! good find. I didn't know that it was due to the vibration and such. I just thought that there was somehow some sort of a limit to the speed the pulley should be turning. lol (which doesn't make much sense) but now what they said in that article helps me understand it all. thnx for the warning

There are some members that know more than me about these, but for the base engine (1zz) the Alutec ones are ok to use. They are the same size replacement just lightened. It is the GT (2zz) engine that cannot put these on or it will break. Theres also a lightened alternator pulley. Also if you run a supercharger you can run a smaller pulley on it to make more boost.

Seriously people, if you have the GT... STAY AWAY FROM THE UNDERDRIVE PULLEYS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

No, I don't have the pulley's, but I also wanted them badly at one point. But like what others have said, "stay away from them". However, Northvibe makes it sound like it would be fine to use them on a base vibe due to the 1zz engine. So I suggest going at it!

Pulleys are great for freeing up hp. I had the Unorthadox crank pulley and I still have the AEM alternator pulley. Before the s/c I had both pulleys on and loved them! The faster starts, better throttle control, and cool whine that they made was awesome!. I recomend them to all the 1zz engines. ; I still have my crank pulley if anyone wants to buy it.
