Well, since I'm driving to the Grand Canyon next week, and have my daughter this weekend, that's just not gonna work.So, the only place that would overnight me a set of non-OEM pads was tirerack, from whom I bought the EBC's previously (why they no longer stock them, I don't know...). My expectations fall somewhere between stock and the EBCs. I wanted KVR's carbon fiber pads, but I couldn't justify $70 per axle PLUS $80 to overnight them . Of course, it's my fault for allowing them to get this bad, but I thought the EBC's would last a bit longer than 35k miles Anyway, the Akebono's received some very GOOD reviews (most are 9 out of 10), so I'm giving them a shot and will post my reviews later this week. They're going in tomorrow.

Have fun at the Grand Canyon, and I hope u end up with some good pads either way. 35k!!! That's crazy. I won't be going out to buy those pads next time I need new ones.

Ok guys, so guess what? My rotors are done too! This is what I get for going with the aggressive EBC pads though. I KNEW they'd wear down my rotors a little quicker than normal OEM or ceramic pads, but I lost track of time on them.Sooo...I'm off to Aneheim (R1Concepts) to pick up a new set of cross-drilled/slotted, zinc plated rotors for $125 even. The ceramic pads will likely extend the rotor's life to 45k-50k miles before needing to replace. (many shops will not turn/resurface xdrilled rotors for fear of breaking their lathe's bit on one of the holes...FYI).That's ok though, I knew my time was coming - it just caught up fast!I will post pics of the trip...here's a link to my Kodak photo album from LAST year's GC trip http://www.kodakgallery.com/Br...age=1

Ok, the pads and rotors are in, and so far they get an A+ They're not even seated yet and they make ZERO...yes, ZERO noise, even with brand new cross-drilled & slotted rotors. Also, their full stopping power potential won't be met until they're seated, but for now, they're stopping just fine.I will take some pics this weekend of them on the wheels.So far, Akebono ProACT pads are excellent!
