Question on spoilers

Do the top or bottom spoiler actually help keep the rear window clear of spray from rain or snow? On mine w/o either spoiler the back end gets pretty dirty.

i kinda doubt it.. we get dust on it even with the mid-gate spoiler. and when you use the rear wiper fluid it kinda gets all over the place if your not driving fast.

On the Vibe they are for looks only, kinda wishful thinking that it could go fast enough to be useful. Curbfeelers on the otherhand...

If they would help keep the crud off the rear window, especially in winter, I would have installed them right away. The Vibe is the worst car I know of for this problem. I wonder if Mazda 3's and other similar vehicles suffer from the same unfortunate aerodynamics?

I guess even though they are not functional, I still like the looks. Thanks for clearing this up.
