Well, first off you shouldn't have any problems running the 800 or 500 watt amp. They might be a max draw of 60amps, just a guess so go easy on that. So you won't need a new alt. I mean I should get a new alt, but I'm not sure on what the price would be for like a 150amp alt. because I'm throwing around 2400rms on my subs or so. I dim my lights and that, the battery will drop in volt quick hence I'm going deep cycle. As for wiring I believe a 4g wire will be fine.

not that type of wiring I know about the subs themself but I was talking about the physical wiring within the car (the wiring going to the alternator) and I really was wanting to upgrade the alternator but I wasn't sure what I should get I know I need bigger because just my old Kenwood BS system I noticed lights would dem and what not

Its not really worth spending the money on upgrading tha alt. My friend put a new one in his Ford Escape, I believe it was around 500+ for a ho alt. So i could imagine what the vibe would be. Umm the wires to the alt. The big 3 as some call it I believe are a 4 or 8 gauge wire, I've been told that if you upgrade them you have less resistance and you can gain a higher output from the exsisting setup in the car. But theory says its true but its prob not really enough to make a difference. I had a JL 300/2 on 2 L5 10s I dimmed the lights I threw a deep cycle battery and it barely dimmed only when I was sitting at a light..Now I dim my lights, I can probably kill off my batteries in oh 15m. Thats a stock under the hood soon to be changed to a yellow top and a yellow top in the back.

ok so you are saying that for what I am going to be putting in I wouldn't need any bigger of an alternator...... that I won't just kill mine? because if you search on the forum there is someone on ebay that sells an alternator for Toyota celica that will work for the vibe LOL cuz its basically the matrix for like 185 with shiping but yea I think that like one 800-1000 rms would be enough power for any subs to me : in other words all I could afford lol or the JL 500/1 and w6 would just about be out of my price range

As i've said I have the stock setup running 2400rms and I've had my car a year still no problems with my alt, i drain the battery quickly but no problems.
