Why did you go with the AEM instead of the Injen? I think that I read in previous posts that the Injen showed better dyno results.

From what I can tell the only difference between the Injen and the AEM is that the air flow sensor is located on the top on the Injen kit and its located on the bottom side of the AEM one. So im not seeing how one can really be that much greater that the other? But who knows?Dustin.

it's like a .1 -.2 difference in them on torque and hp. the AEM was only 201 and the injen was like 219 or something like that so, i was like i can save that 20 bucks for an S-AFC. that's the main reason.

Sounds like a good plan to me. I am putting together the list of mods I want ot get once it gets a little warmer (and have some more money). Just trying to see what other members are choosing and why.

I put an AEM on my car a few weeks ago. It actually seems to open the car up both on the low end and definitely on the big end. Once the high lift cam hits, the car starts screaming and from 7000rpm to the fuel cutoff at 8300rpm it makes this vibrating/ripping sound though it's not vibrating, it sounds very cool. Power seemed to pick up appreciably, kind of like uncorking a plug. This 2ZZ motor loves to breathe, so the more air you can get in there, the more power it can make.Well worth the money! I'll try to get some pics, but it looks just like the other pictures that have been posted previously, like from CaCathy..I have the polished as well.

I'm still trying to decide between Injen and AEM - or maybe K&N. It sounds like Injen has a slight edge at the upper end, but AEM is easier to install. I want something that will boost the low end the most, since that's where I spend most of my commute time. Its pretty hard to wind it out on a two lane winding mountain road - although I try!

The Injen isnt that hard to put on. The two hardest parts is reading the very basic instructions. Someone on here post a nice thread with pictures that helped a lot. The second is you have to take the splash guard off the bottom so you can reach up in and install the filter itself. Key part is not to attach the pipe to the intake first. Feed the pipe down through where needed, put the filter on, then attach the pipe to the intake. MAkes it much easier.

I don't think you can go wrong with either the AEM or Injen. I had an AEM on my '93 Del Sol Si a long while back it was a very good quality. This one is a good quality. AEM has been around a long time, I don't know when Injen came on the scene, but AEM had more name recognition to me and I got the same price at the same place as savedbyzero. I'm happy with it and like I said it seemed to boost power and torque throughout the rev band. I try to hit lift as often as possible, but commuting that doesn't happen too often, so the more low-end I can get the better!
