Do you remember what the actual code was?One simple cause for a CEL is not having the gas cap properly tightened. That would be the first thing I would check. there's a link in
http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...86803 to a softcopy of a matrix service manual, that might be useful.and welcome to genvibe!

Motor Magazine's online site has been running a multi-part series about troubleshooting Toyota's very complicated evap system, a very common cause of Toyota (and Vibe) CEL's. Here are the series links in pdf format. Hope it helps!
http://www.motor.com/MAGAZINE/Pdf/01200 ... _09.pdfThe first paragraph in the first link doesn't sound good :Quote »Many technicians have told me that Toyota's evaporative emissions systems are too confusing. Consequently, they avoid working on them. It's a shame because there are so many Toyota products on the road and someone has to fix these vehicles.

Just wanted to say thank you for the gas cap post. I received error code 0446 on my OBD II scanner ( emmission control system leak(small) ). I checked the gas cap and it seemed to tighten, but not click. I retighened it so it would click. Its been three days since I cleared the code and have not had an error since. Thanks again,Jeff
