Count me in the club that gets to send their Vibe to the shop for window repairs. Tonight we had just parked at a restaraunt. I hit the button to roll up my window and CRACK!!!!! Scared the heck out of me and the family. At least the window didn't shatter like on some other Vibes. And, the window is staying in place for the time being, although at a slight angle. Something fell inside the door and it rattles a bit too. Will call the dealer tomorrow to get it scheduled for a fix. Guess I will take this "opportunity" to get a couple of other issues looked at. Hopefully the weather will hold out and I can just ride my Shadow to work.

I'm just waiting for mine to do that! It cracks every time I roll it up at about the halfway point, so I know it's just a matter of time. Hopefully I will still be in warranty when it goes, but even then I'm sure they wil say that something I have done to my car caused it!

Schweet! Well, yep, 'tleast it didn't shatter! I feel for ya, been there, done that, got the t-shirt.... Yours sounds like it did what mine was doing when it got all crooked and in a bind, but mine snapped back into place and was no longer crooked... It was scary when it did that. If they come back saying they need to replace something other than the door check, go ahead and make them replace the door check. There's a new version out that could be helpful for preventing future problems with the window... Heck, see if they'll do the other side too, like they'll be willing to fix something that isn't broken (yet but WILL be) but you know. lol! There's a TSB around for those...Keep us posed, I'm interested to see what they say! Those bozos never could figure my windows out, so I just gave up on ever getting them fixed... I wish you luck. Can't wait to hear what they have to do to it...Damron, go make them fix yours too, this is a safety problem... Or it could potentially be a safety problem.

Jason, it won't be long for yours, if it's like how mine went. My window started to make that noise about 2 months ago. I would not wait if I were you. Believe me, the blasted thing almost gave me a heart attack when it went!

I thought for sure it would have gone by now, but it is still hanging in there. Like I said, I would take it in, but I have aftermarket door speakers, RAAMmatfor sound deadening, and stuff like that, so I just have this gut feeling if I take it in they will try to blame it on that and then charge me for the service check! I guess I'm just waiting for it to go before I even bother with it.

I do not have power windows. I have been hearing a very small pop (more of a twang sound) when rolling the window up at about the half way point.I wonder if its the same thing???

It wouldn't surprise me, mot likely something to do with the tracks, since it's not the motor that's failing, it the window falling off the track or it's misalignment or something causing some to shatter! best to get it checked out! Do what I say, not what I do! lol

Wouldn't the "cracking" sounds indicate the window is broken? I mean, maybe you can't see it, but maybe it's chipping away the edges?I can't remember if the side windows are laminated or not... I don't think so. Man, I'm going to be really pissed if I roll my windows up one day and booosh - I'm coated in tempered glass confetti...

Took it into the shop this evening (needed it over the weekend). Will let you all know what they say when it gets looked at tomorrow.

Jeez, I'm glad I haven't run into this yet. I've been using my windows more often than the AC recently and have yet to hear any strange noises!

Well, got the Vibe back this evening. The screws had come loose on the window track. They put it back together and the window works fine now, no noise at all. If it starts making any noise again, I'm not waiting to take it for service.
