Here's what I remember off the top of my (rather sunburnt) head. TBWGives the ECM full control over the position of the throttle control. Instead of just being able to control idle air, it now allows for smoother transitions from acceleration, deceleration, and off idle control - lowering overall emissions. It allows for an inexpensive Cruise Control addition (if yours didn't come with the option).It prevents the addition of some aftermarket mods. Like the supercharger, which was an option for all Vibes up until 2005 DBW equiped.Someone else can add more - I took the easy ones.
