Yeah, I have it w/ my 05 GT. It's my first FWD car but I've driven plenty of larger FWD cars that don't have the issue. I see it a lot accelerating on a bumpy road. A limited slip or auto locking differential would help. I'm not sure what's available for these cars but for solid axle vehicles you can get mini spools, full spools, auto lockers with machined clutches, limited slips w/ abrasive discs and manual lockers actuated by electric solenoid, pneumatic solenoid or by cable.

I'm not sure who did this, but I saw someone who put new engine mounts on his Vibe, and he claimed that it dramatically improved torque steer. But he also said that it gave a lot more rattle and engine vibration.

Yes, energy suspension motor mounts are said to help the wheel hop. They do on the other hand make your car vibrate a little more, since the stop the motor mounts from absorbing all the engine vibration.

You're right - I've never seen a car with so little power, have so much torque steer ! Thye almost didn't need to put a steering wheel on the car !

oh, yea they do have a lsd for our trannies but they are hella expensive to install, and not really worth it imo. BUT some ppl on matrixowners.com have them and say they make a world of difference.

Limited slips or full lockers are always worth it.

How else are you going to get traction? Tires @ $200 each, stiffer springs or coil overs. Ever driven a vehicle before and after installing one? It's like night and day. Save a few bucks and install it yourself.
