Just yesterday I was racing a car but thats besides the point I started hearing a wierd raddling noice next to my a/c vent on the passenger side and it got louder as my rpms got higher I took apart everything to see if anything was loose or could be loose, and put it all together. Well i went to a long stretch of road to see if it did it again and it did so Im stumped do you guys have any clue what it might be. your info would be greatly appreciated thanx

Mine just started this today but it makes the noise with air off also, I see the pad above the cabing filter tapping (in rhythm with the blinking seat belt off light) so it appears to be electrical. Any suggestions out there?

I Played around a bit and if I turn on the recirc the tapping stops, and If I turn the air off and the recirc off thye tapping starts again. So for right now that is my only fix is to turn on recirc to stop the tapping, I hope someone out there has more

Check here for starters...

There might be a TSB about a in dash rattle...My vibe was in for some pre 36k "noises" and "clunks" that i "heard" but i told them my A-Pillar rattled...but they fixed a in dash rattle...yea they didnt fix the A-pillar. but if you have warranty they prolly have a tsb about that..

I think that may be it, while driving there was a few second delay when I turned off the recirc, so I looked while not driving and there it was, as soon as the door moves in place to take outside air it starts clicking. It does move the panel all he way over but it appears it wants to keep on moving, and hence, the rapping, tapping sound, evermore.I surprised it is stripped as I always leave the recirc off so the motor has barely been used. I wish it could be a simple adjustment.

Well I got the same problem live in FL and yesterday it started (09/13/06). I always keep mind on recir and got louder as speed increased. Took off of recir and the noise disappear. I'm out of warranty ('03 GT with 73,400 miles). Any clues of how much it cost to fix?
