thinking about a new car... which doesn't mean much for those who don't me well. i am thinking about a new car every month of the year... but i test drove an audi a3 today... i really like it. it has a lot of qualities that i love about teh vibe and adds teh things i miss... manual or paddle shifting, steering wheel controls and an adequate amount of hp for not much of a mpg penalty.it would break my heart to trade in my action vibe, my partner in crime, but i really liked teh a3.integrated bluetooth, where it puts your address book in teh DIC... nice touch.had a two tier moonroof, so teh back row had a roof to look through as well. nice feature... i worry about leaks.can only get quattrro on the 6 cylinder though... the 6 has adaptive xenons as well...hmmm, what to do.only 4.9 financing though. and of course, they dont take gm card earnings

That looks like a fun wagon! The price isn't too bad for starters, when I heard Audi I figured it would be a bit more expensive. 'course when you start adding options, hi $30,000+ ! I bet that's a neat car though.

A3 is a nice car, but waaaay overpriced. Why don't you take a closer look on the new VW GTI. Same technology as the A3 but a LOT cheaper. Just my 2 cents.

The GTI is ALOT more expensive than the A3. These 'starting' prices mean nothgin anymore, the cheapest GTI I saw when hitting dealers while deciding on my next car was $37,000 and I saw well equiped A3's in the low 30's.

What are you talking about? Did you have some magic mushrooms? You're saying that the cheapest GTI is 37 grand, and on their website it say it starts from $21,990.Please!!! Give me a break!Just priced out one. Fully loaded $29,929

not sure where the 37 number came from, but i did see the 29 loaded 3 door, so you figure 1k extra for 2 more doors, and its pretty darn close to invoice on the a3...

Loaded A3 almost 35 grand. So it is still 4-5 grand more than the VW. Don't get me wrong. The A3 is a great car. But the GTI is the same for a lot lesser money. You know Audi own by VW.

i am not looking for loaded. the one i want has everything i need (bluetooth, premium package) and it invoices at 30k.i know they are the same. and thanks for pointing out the 5 door is coming. thats the first a heard about it, but i dont think i would save too much money that route... we'll see... the way it is with me, this is much ado about nothing!

'starting' price doesn't mean jack anymore.

Also watch out for those VW 2.4T's, my mom has one in her Passat and she said she needs to do synthetic changes every 5k to prevent the turbo from burning up. Nevermind the faulty coil packs she's had issues with..

When you said "turbo" and "paddle shift", I thought you were talking about the new Acura RDX. It's their first turbocharged vehicle and includes paddle shifitingCheck it out:http://www.acura.com/index.asp...heRDX
