Disappointed with Cosmo CAI

Im going to _itch for a minute. OK. What I received was what appears to be a 03,04 intake that is moded to fit a 05,06. The tube puts way too much pressure on the back of the light assembly. Instead of a welded input for the hose from under the black cover it is a rubber grommet in the pipe with a aluminum tube thru it, the tube is the wrong diameter. And to end all the tube with the grommet is in the wrong place, it is rotated too far down on the tube, should be up. Oh and they forgot the 15mm black hose to extend that. How do I know it is a refit. They have a welded on tip, that is for the 03,04 that is capped off. Yes I am pissed. Probably to keep up with the demand for the 05,06 CAI they decided to start refitting 03,04s. Oh and the bends could be better. Besides all that it fit great! HA!

They are all made like that. Maybe that's why they had a CAI for the '05-'06 two years before anybody else. Mine came with the extra hose. The supplied hose fits perfectly inside the stock hose, it's made that way on purpose. Mine fit perfectly and was a simple 25 minute install. Great price too.

i just got mine 2 days ago, and i got extra hose (~3 feet).. the rubber grounmet w/ auminum tube... i agree why not weld it. But oh well for 1/2 the price of injen or K&n ( which dont even sell them yet) i'll go with Cosmo

I feel ya! mine didnt come with the hose... and the rubber thingy kept popping to the intake. and the filter rubber kept poppin into the filter. i had to cut about 3" off my intake to make it fit.Overall i love it... but they have not to great install inst. and the product could be built better. So im just waiting for injen or aem to get off their lazy *** and make ours.

my friend's Matrix cosmo intake was a snap to install.. his came with everything but a clamp I felt should be there for the hose attached at the intake.I still like my Injen better...

again, you get what you pay for.. not always, but usually in a/m vehicle parts i have found this to be quite true.

Mine was a PITA too... it took a while to fight in there. i also had to cut about 2-3" off the bottom to fit the filter. I got the vibramount on, but it was a tight fit, and its a tad bit crooked. Mine also didnt come with the hose for the DBW version. But after all said and done im happy with it.
