celica's are one of the most tuned vehicles out there. maybe not as much as the civics, but pretty damn close! they are also lighter weight i believe so the GT (1zz) are faster and quicker than the vibe GT's (2zz). very impressive for the celica. too bad they won't be making them anymore.

No, the Celica GT's aren't much faster than the base Vibes. I've driven a couple and I wasn't very impressed with thier speed. I did, however, love how nice it handled compaired to the Vibe. Felt like a big go-kart in the turns. Never drove a GT-s, though. I bet that would be fun!

really? because i know some GT owners that run in the high 15's stock, unlike base vibe running low 17's stock.

i concur with lancer, i just don't see the celica gt beating a vibe gt, the weight difference isn't that horrendous.

Sorry, I wasn't speaking in terms of track times. I was reffering to how the Celica GT and the (my) base Vibe felt in accelleration. As far as track times, yes (stock for stock) I would agree the celica gt would probly beat a base vibe. But not by much, maybe 1 - 1 1/2 car lengths at the most. Your freind that made his celica gt do high 15's did a really good job driving. As I always say, though, every car is different. You can't always assume one type of car will always beat another. Too many variables.
