I just called SLP to order a thier Ram Air hood for $399 but the salesman said it would take at least 3-4 hours of prep work before the hood would be ready for paint. Whats the deal with that?Anyone ordered one of these hoods and does it actually need this much work???? Thanks!

I've never dealt with ram-air before but I used to work at a body shop (cleaning boy for 3 months) and I don't see how it could take that long to prep a hood unless it comes in all banged up.

This is the reason they stopped making them.........cost getting too high and it wasn't selling well ~ due to poor quality.

my hood came smooth and cost about $250 at the body shop to get painted.. I hadn't test fit it before it was painted and it rubbed on one side but I took it back to the body shop and they adjusted the fender

OHHH your talking about the length to get it to you the consumer? I thought you meant after you recieved it and then had to get it painted.
