Ragingfish's G6 Vandalized

Sadly, yes, it's true.I can't believe the horrible luck I'm having with this car. Decided to go out with a good friend for drinks and food after a HORRENDOUS day at work. Went to applebees (yes, I support the competition upon occasion). Actually had a table where my car was totally visible from my seat. Watched it most of the night, because there were craploads of damn highschoolers raising hell around. Anyway, never saw anything suspicious, but when I went to leave, was almost horrified to discover someone had had the audacity to key my car...along the entire length of the body...down BOTH sides.Filed a police report, and am going to the dealer tomorrow for a repair estimate. Here are some pics:High-res and more pics: RaginG6: Vandalized

Sonsa*bleep!* Mike, my man, as someone who has the same damn cloud that is ALWAYS right over top of his head all the fricken time, all I can say is I'm so sorry! I know how it feels! You don't deserve this crap!I hate to see how people bust their asses to have something nice and others feel the need to turn it all to ****! All that jealousy, just because they can't have what you have. Maybe they need to get off their butts and do something for a change, then they could have something like you have - whatta concept! Hope you can get it fixed up soon man! And I hope this crap STOPS!

Man, that sucks... Does the restaurant have any cameras in the parking lot or anything? That might be helpful to the police, especially if the person is a repeat offender... I hate people who can't respect someone else's property. If someone did that to their car, they'd be ready to kill them, yet they don't give a second thought to doing it to someone else's car. Hope it gets fixed soon!!

I feel your pain man! Somebody hit our Vibe in a parking lot the other day. Made 2 huge gouges in the rear bumper and a dent just below the tail light. I used to live in a bad neighbourhood in Ottawa. My new truck was keyed 4 times in 5 years a headlight kicked in and the tonneau cover sliced twice. It seams the newer a vehicle is the more of a magnet it is for misfortune. Like Kari said, maybe the cameras caught something but since they are kids, they'll get a slap on the wrist at best.

hope the place you were at has a camera... but wow.. someone had some balls to walk around your car and key right in front of the windows to the place. I say people like that need to be hung or have a 5ft long rusty key shoved up their (removed). No respect these days for other people's property.

WOW that is such BS, people dont respect @#$# these days. High school kids are the worse because they CAN get away with anything and if they get caught its just a talking to. but if a grandma downloads music she gets fined 100000000000 dollars...mmm the sense our nation makes. anyway i hope you are able to find out what happens..and +1 to the, did it happen to anyone elses car?

Honestly, I didn't really care about anyone else's car at the time, but the cars parked directly around me did not *appear* to have been vandalized. The restaurant does NOT have cameras, and I called the police knowing well they would not be finding out who did it. I merely needed a police report filed before I could file with insurance.

That sucks, but I feel your pain, as someone just put a helluva dent in my driver's side rear door! Not a mere door ding, but an intentional SLAM of another door. So much for parking it in BFE everywhere I go. If I had have seen it at the time, I would have called the cops on the spot. When things like this happen, I swear I'm going to buy a $500 P.O.S. to drive around.Nobody has any damn respect for anyone else's property anymore.

ok, i JUST looked at the pics. OMFG! i'd KILL who ever did that. they would pray i didn't find them or hunt them down! that's total BS!!!!! i can't believe people are such @!$(*(^#%$ to do such things and have no respect for other people's property! sheesh! i tell you, if we had harsher punishment and spanking your kids wasn't freaking "child abuse" crap like this wouldn't happen so much!

How do claims like this that aren't your fault play into your insurance rates?Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and it happened elsewhere nearby the same night and whoever did it will end up getting caught...one can only hope so. It really sucks that people are able to get away with crap like this.

of course they play into insurance. you still have to CLAIM them on your insurance under comprehensive coverage. if the insurance co has to pay out and they don't get paid back, your insurance will be affected. if you haven't had any claims in a long time or ever, usually it won't be affected the first time. however, if you have had other claims within 3 yrs, then.... well, grab your ankles.

This really sucks! On a defenseless car too! Makes me real mad!!!! My ride got secondarily egged in college once. Some A-hole egged our house and the eggs hit the house and then fell onto my cars hood. Hard to have nice stuff in some areas or times in ones life. I took my car home and brought back one of my parents older vehicles. Of course NOTHING happened to it!

I know they do come into play...I was just asking how they do, in NJ especially, because I know their insurance is really expensive anyhow...

That downright sucks. Who and why would you do that?????I was in a parking yesterday on Merrivale here in Ottawa and a new black caddilac scraped the heck out of the quarter panel of a Honda mini van while backing out of a parking spot. I saw them, and they started to leave so I grabbed the plate. They stopped to see what I was doing. I paid no attention to them and wrote a note for the owner of the Honda indicating what had happened. F***** jerks in this world. Karma will get all of them for sure.

Man Mike, I really feel for you..you have way too many incidents with your cars!I feel even worse knowing that his cellphone just bit it too!

Took it to the dealer today. The estimate: $1500 to $2000. Why so much? They have to fully repaint 5 panels: front left fender, driver door, rear left quarter, front right fender, passenger door. All need to be repainted. I'm also having them repair the paint damage from the curb incident and some scuffing on the front bumper, both of which where my fault, and I will pay for out of pocket. Those repairs estimate about $500-$1000. Should take about a week.We called the insurance company, despite their $4500 payout for the deer hit last year, this claim still will not raise my rates. Anything more, however, and I might be asking for trouble...And as Jahntassa said, this week got crappier when my cell phone bit the dust and I had to pay full retail for a new one. I got a RAZR V3, and it's ok, I don't love it but I don't hate it.On a more humorous note, while I was at the dealer, they were prepping a G6 convertible for delivery. One of the salesguys came up to see what happened to my car, and he told me the roof on the 'vert actually had broke when they tried to close it. Go figure! They didn't even deliver it and the folding roof is broken. HAHA!

Whitney "Twerp-Zapper" - It's a 1,000,000,000,000-volt 'anti-keying' auto-alarm-and-defense system that instantly vaporizes any vandal holding a key or other metallic object near the side of your car? Oh yeah, it DOES require about a dozen .000000000000000000000000001 farad capacitors and a trunk full of truck batteries.

Man that is a deep scratch. Looks like it is down to the sheet metal.I feel for you. Are you sure you did not (removed) some chick off or something. That looks like a heck of alot more damage than a vandal would impose.

!!! How the heck could someone do that! Just picturing that happening to ANY car makes my spine tingle with pain and anger! If you by some miracle find the vandilizers you should first have them pay for damages and then find them at their houses, wear a ski mask and "key" their face with a bench grinder and see how they like it. Unfortunately for them, their face wont be able to get repainted so....

eh, just buff it out. texas has an organization called crime victims compensation that can help with things like deductibles and rental cars in situations like that, any chance NJ has something similar? might help the old pocket book out after your other recent fun at the dealership.
