neons i think you can have green or white outside the car.while driving but im not 100% sure, but it also really depends on the officer around you. but as you already know any color while parked. and as for tint you can have:Quote »TX5" on wind sheild25% Driver and passenger front windos ANY% Rear doors drive and passengerANY% rear quater windowsand hatch. (after rear doors)which part of texas are you moving to? and will you want to joins us in october for the south central meet in Dallas?

Here's the Texas Laws on vehicle tint:
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/Misc/fa ... ssentially, 25% on ALL side windows and no minimum on the back. (In contradiction to the previous poster. As to what's enoforced, though, it probably varies. The back side windows aren't checked during inspection.)Unless you have a lot of experience with it, I don't recommend doing it yourself. I've yet to see a do-it-yourself job that came out well or last any length of time.I can't find specific info on lighting, so I put in a call to the DPS and someone is supposed to get back with me. If they do, I'll post the info.

GMJAP has the tint laws right. i actually had mine done at the same shop that handles all of the new trooper vehicles here in austin, and verified the information they gave me independently with a trooper beforehand.i know underbody neons are legal, but there are restrictions. while in motion, they can only be one color (and i think they can't be red). turn signals have to be red or amber, reverse lights have to be white (and are the only rear-facing white lights allowed). i'm not sure about the specifics for strobes or other neon. around here i see some of the washer nozel LED jobs, but that's about it. also, i'm not sure about georgia, but we do have annual state inspections here in texas to check the road worthiness of your vehicle (functional turn brakes, turn signals, horn, AM radio, etc). some areas (namely the houston, dallas, and now austin metro areas) also have emissions inspections.

Haven't heard back from DPS, but here is everything you want to know (and more) on vehicle lighting. My browsing through generally confirms what jwalcik already mentioned, and strobes would be a no-no:http://www.capitol.state.tx.us...03.00

Thanks for posting that first link, GMJAP. I had always thought the limit for front windows was 35%, not 25% (as mentioned in the link).Hmmm...might be nice to darken them windows again before summer gets going..

The rule is that it has to allow 25% light to pass through, of course. The guy that tinted my windows said he used a 32% tint because, when combined with the slightly greenish Toyota glass our cars use, it will give an appearance of 25% overall. I have 32% tint on all windows.

Sure has. I got called back to fix my roof rack how-to so people can see the pictures again, and I had a look around while I was here.
