shot. Yep we went to get our winter tires taken off and the all seasons put back on, to be told that they were at the wear bars and we need new tires. Now when we had the tires removed 10,000kms ago why wouldn't they say something then? we had a sunfire before this and replaced the tires at 80,000 km just becuase we felt we had to, not because they wore out, they were just old. Were gonna try and see if they warranty them and some new tires but the wife is saying if they dont we're leaving the car there. the vibe has been goodish for us but more trouble then good. the windshield is cracking bad from a small chip, both sets of fog light have been cracked and replaced, she has a bad shimmy in the steering, the stereo is fading, paint chipping all over the place, and now the tires. its not like we dont care of the car, always in for routine maintence, when something feels wrong or goes wrong we take it in right away and are pretty patient people. But this feels like the final straw for the vibe. sorry but this could be then end of the vibe for us

Are they the Continentals? The dealer will replace them because there is a TSB (technical service bulletin) about them. If you can pay a few dollars extra and get them replaced with Goodyear TripleTred tires. http://www.discounttiredirect....ar=55Several Genvibe members have done it.

After all I've been through with mine, A silly window making noise that apparently can't be fixed was the straw that broke the Colonel's back. People around here have told me that life is too short to have something that is this big of a troublemaker. I've finally listened, and found a way that I can possibly do something about that. It took some time and a willingness to sacrifice but maybe it will work... At least I hope it will.Hate to hear about your luck, and I certainly understand your frustration. I wish you luck! If you're unhappy with your situation, do what you can to get out of it! The Vibe can be a good car, but it can be problematic just like everything else. There's always hope that something else may serve you better. You've got the family to think of, so if you're worried about the car being in the shop all the time, see what you can do to change that.Unfortunately, with the exception of the shimmy, you're seeing common defects with these cars. We know the tires stink. The radios can be crap (I've had like 4!,) the fogs easily break, stupid idea for them to use glass! (Toolguy's fog light protectors are GREAT!), the windshields are thin (my first rock chip and subsequent repalcement ever was with this car,) and the paint is the worst quality I've seen this side of a 1980's GM product where the paint peeled off in sheets - it's a terrible, terrible paint job! I wish you luck with whatever you do!

You could be SOL on the tires depending on your dealer and if you had you tires rotated with them.My days with the Vibe will end when it paid off and my next car will NOT be a GM product more due to the lack of good service and help with problems with the car.

I've had a lot of issues w/ my Vibe..especially the tire shimmy problem. I have had the tire/balanced 3 times,...with the most expensive one being a Road Force Balance and diagnosis at around $250 cdn. They have checked the rims and didn't notice anything wrong with it and they believe that the shimmy could be the tires. I have the 16" Goodyear Eagle RSA with about 50000 kms on them. The weird thing is that i have winter tires and they cased the steering to vibrate too. They are currently pricing out new tires for me. I really don't know how to fix this. My hope that a tire replacement is cheaper than a new car.
