Just came across this. http://www.jeep.com/07compass/ Supposed to cost around the same price at the Vibe. Lots of neat toys. I'd spring for this before a Caliber.

Great. An UGLY competition between the Compass and the Caliber. Don't know which I think is worse. Who the heck is designing these things?

It's not bad looking, but wouldn't you be a little bit embarressed to drive a Jeep with no off-road capability whatsoever?

Holy crap! Talk about a body double!

I was behind one of these on the x-way this week, and then got to pass it. The fender bulges did look extreme, and the vehicle appeared low to ground, kinda awkward. Reminds me of original Santa Fe.

Yeah, and I'm the one that thought the new RAV4 for looked like a Vibe from the back!

I think it is a brilliant bit of marketing on the part of Chrysler. For minimal cost they have something else to sell that probably gets pretty good gas mileage.

How many Jeep owners go off roading is it is? Heck, how many 4x4 owners go off roading? I've only known a few, and they're all under 30.

Yeah that is friggin' nasty. I'd never own one.

I'll agree not many probably will use the capabilities of, say, a Wrangler to the fullest, so it really is a moot point anymore.

I like it! It just looks different. Guess you have to see one in person to get a better feel, I have.

The Belvidere plant builds the 2007 Dodge Caliber, and expects to begin production of the Jeep Compass this month and the Jeep Patriot this year. Belvidere added a second shift in March. It used to produce the Dodge Neon.
