so i installed the gps unit finally. one problem. the unit is hooked up to the spped signal for the left side junction block. but according to its reading, its interpreting it as being half of what my actual speed is. as a result it always has me driving through the never waiting for the GPS signal to correct it.any ideas? are there different pulses available in the junction block? there doesn't seem to be a setting on the nav unit to correct for this, which i found odd because don't some cars have different pulse modulation schemes?

Yeah, that is a bit odd. I don't have the wiring diagrams, but last time I had to find speed signal on a car I pulled it off the back of the instrument cluster.I thought there was something to calibrate the speed within the NAV unit..

theres a setting to do something after a tire change, but i am scared to press it. you think that will do it?

Be a good guess. What that's designed to do is reset the speed sensor calculations when you replace the tire. The theory is the speed reading changes minutely in comparison to the GPS as the tread wears down.Hitting that button 'should' resyncronize the speed sensor reading with the GPS.

You are suposed to connect it into the back of the gauge cluster there is a violet wire with a black line ( I think I will check to find out for sure) that you are suposed to connect it to. I had to connect my Pioneer Avic N-2 into that insted of the way the manual states.
