None of the Vibe radios (pre-06) had theftlock.Instructions can be found to unlock it, but it will probably expect to talk the car computer in order for that to work. However, in the Vibe the radio does not connect to car's computer at all.Sorry to rain on the parade, but I seriously doubt you'll ever get it to work.

If it's theftlock, like, actual theftlock, it doesn't talk to the computer. Depending on what radio it is (having a picture of the front of it would help), then GMJAP would be right. In fact, GMJAP is probably right.. I don't know how many GM in-dash 6-discs there were pre-GMDatabus

Just curious, how do you know it needs a code? does it say 'Code' or something?

Can you put disks in and eject them? There was a guy about a year-and-a-half ago that posted he got a 2004 Matrix 6CD off Ebay and it was locked. Unfortunately, he never posted if he ever got it unlocked or what the end result was.I got a 2004 Matrix 6CD off Ebay and put it in my Vibe, then took it out and put it in my Dad's Vibe. Never had a problem, never locked. Never heard of another radio locking except in your and the 1 previous case.I have some unlocking instructions for mid-nineties GM radios, but not the Class-II ones.

I wonder if this happens if someone tries to install it in a "normal" GM vehicle, where it finds the CPU and tries to compare the VIN.Anyway, the results of my brief research is that RDS radios can only be unlocked by dealers, who'll charge you between $40 and $80 for the pleasure. If you ever get it resolved, please let us know what went down. Good luck.
