Softer ride for the Vibe?

Have stock 205/55/16" tires on steel rims that are due for the landfill.Sorry guys, but bought my 04 Salsa Vibe as a Mini Minivan rather than a performer. Helps that it looks great too!!Is there a tire that rides a little softer than the stock Conti's without losing all the handling as well?Want to replace with something that does not remove kidney stones!!Is the tires the problem, or just the profile being a 55.I have seen posts that people have changed to either a 205/60/16 or a 225/50/16, but not sure how they compare in terms of ride comfort and handling. I suspect the 50 series tire might be good on handling but not solve my ride problem. The Goodyear Tripletreads look like a good choice, but would love others to share their opinion, especially on size. Thanks,Walter

heya fellow mississaugian...i put michelin hydroedges on my vibe last summer and they're not exactly 'performance' tires (i think the sidewalls aren't stiff enough) but the ride is much better than the continentals we had on from the dealer!

i would suggest getting some 15" rims, that way you can have more tire to ride on.
