New Head Unit with M&T Amp problem

Had a Pioneer DEH-6800MP installed with the stock speakers and the M&T Amp, but am experiencing a lhissing sound. You can really hear it when a cd is paused or you have it on aux without the source playing, but you can hear it when music is playing softly. Can't really hear it when the music is loud, but it's definitely not right. Anyone experienced this or have any idea what it could be?

Anyone experienced this or have any idea what it could be?You need a Scosche line-level converter that you can pick up at Wal-Mart to put between the head unit and the amp:http://www.walmart.com/catalog...63065(Except you'll use it to connect an A/M head unit to a factory amp)

Even though the Pioneer DEH-600MP has pre-outs?

It is actually designed to run off the speaker outputs of the head units (the stock HUs have no line level outs, and there is no difference between the base and M&T head units). The converter will allow you to reduce the A/M HU outputs to a level that the amp can properly handle. If you do a forum search under "scosche" in Post Bodies (not just Topics) you'll find a lot of information about using A/M HUs with the factory amp, and the need for the converter.
