Bought some new(used) wheels today!

EDIT: See 14th post for latest info.I bought some Mille Miglia 17"x7" +40 offset wheels on Ebay for $156(for all four) shipped to me. I am going to have a local shop repair and refinish them to new condition. I got them froma guy that is being shipped out to Iraq on Monday(4/17) and needed to get rid of them asap. They are similar to the EVO5. Close enough for me and for that price I couldn't pass them up. So I should have them on in a month or so after they are refinished and I get some new Falken Ziex ZE-512 tires for them. I will then be selling my 16" stock alloy wheels. So, if anyone is interested, let me know.(Sorry for the big pic, but that was the only way you could see the wheels up close enough tell what damage they have)

Wow! Certainly a good price as long as the wheels are structurally sound. Do you have a quote on refinishing already?

The seller says there is only cosmetic damage and that they are in otherwise perfect condition. They look to be in good structural condition from the pic. But I'll see once I have them.I have received one quote of $138 flat fee per wheel for whatever damage that needs to be repaired and refinished (cosmetic and structural).I am waiting to hear back from a couple of local powdercoating shops for their estimates as well. I was told I could get it done locally for as low as $80 per wheel. So, we'll see.

Well even the $138 isn't that bad given the price for the wheels. Especially if they'll fix minor structural problems. Again, good find! I hope they work out well for you. I just love that style of wheel. Especially on the Vibe.

These are my favorites too. NSimkins refused to sell me his. So I had to look elsewhere. I got lucky on Ebay. I actually only bid on them once and forgot about them. An then found out someone else won them. Then today I received a second chance offer since the first buyer backed out after seeing the amount marks on them.

Excellent price for those , but after looking carefully at those wheels, it looks like the 1st and 3rd wheels (from the left) have major outside lip damage (must have been the fronts). Plus, if you look at the 4th wheel, where it's almost touching the 3rd wheel, looks like it's bent a little! I hope your wheel guy can fix those and make'm look purtty!!!!!! Can't wait to see how they look on yours!

Yeah, the 1st & 3rd have major curbage. I think the 3rd wheel is putting a shadow on the 4th wheel making it look like it is bent. Thanks for pointing that out though. I will be sure to inspect them carefully upon arrival.

Nice wheels, well, will be really nice once they are repaired. What kind of finish do you want to get? Bright silver, chrome, gun metal, etc?

I may be interested...IM me any offers for my set of 4 oem 16" alloys that will be available in about a month. They are in excellent condition with center caps that have a black reflective pontiac symbol overlay. I will post pics of the oem 16" tonight. They have the oem Conti's which will be removed before shipping as they are almost shot.

Well, the owner back out of the deal. He felt he could get more for them somewhere else. Whatever! You win some and you lose some. The search continues.....

He was honest with me and refunded my money right away. So I gave him a neutral rating, only for his good communication and prompt refund. After thinking about it, there was a reason that this happened. Only time will tell what that reason is.

Yup, that's the way you've got to look at it. Same reason I didn't get YOUR wheels. Who knows--maybe you'll get new furniture instead!

I just got this E-mail from Ebay:"The following is a notice from eBay Trust & Safety regarding: Item Number - 8054263194 Item Title - Four 17 x 7 Mille Miglia Wheels Our records show that you were a bidder or buyer of one or more of this seller's items. We recently removed this seller's active listings and suspended the seller's trading privileges. Due to privacy concerns we cannot share further details about this seller."I found out from another bidder that he had actually sold the wheels 3 or 4 times and never shipped them to anyone. I knew there was a reason the deal fell thru. Looks like he got what was coming to him. I'm lucky I didn't get burned.
