Ok, this is my 1st post and I guess I'm kind of a noob. I've looked at other posts trying to find out what happened and I, along with a few other friends are stumped. I have an '04 with M&T. I recently tried to change out my factory speakers with Pioneer 6.5's Started off in the back, besides all the drilling and just being a pain in the (removed), everything went fine, the speakers work fine, didn't get the brackets, just screwed them right into the doors... I moved on to the front doors, then ran across a pleasant suprise (sarcastic), THE HOLE IS BIGGER THAN THE SPEAKER! So I order the brackets from crutchfield. I get them and tried to install them yesterday and ran across another suprise... the front speakers wont put out ANY sound at all. I haven't even taken the driver side door panel off yet, the tweaters work fine, but I can't get anything out of either of the front main front speakers. I tried hooking up the other 6.5, tried the stock speaker and a pioneer 6x9 from my old car... nothing. I checked the fuses... fine. No visible wire damage. It is my understanding that the tweaters are probably on the same chanel as the front mains so the amp shouldn't be the problem. Anyone know if I'm incorrect on that? Anyone have any suggestiongs?

If you have M&T, the tweeters are amplified seperately within the amp, but there's only two channels going into the amp (two in, three out).It's possible the front stage of the front speakers blew in the amp, you wouldn't see a fuse for that.Keep in mind, if you do have M&T, any non-factory speakers aren't want that amplifier was designed for, so there's a greater possibility of harm to it. Though, more often, it just won't be as loud.

Is there any way to check that? You think I should just get a aftermarket amp? How involved would that be?

When I was having a lot of issues with my stock setup, I tried to replace the moon & tunes amp... But when I did that, I had sound out of the rear, sound from the front tweeters, but nothing was coming out of the speakers in the front doors. Went back to my original amp and I had sound from the front again. That *was* a good amp at one point in time that I had just installed, something in my stupid car probably fried the front channel. That sounds quite a bit like what you are experiencing.
