Yep, as of 11:59 last night I became a civilian again after over 7.5 years in the Navy. Still looking for a job, so look slike the Vibe might be neglected for a while. Hoping to move back to Dallas if I can find work there. Feels weird....

Correction you're in the civilian world... once you're in the military you'll never be a civilian again..you are a VETERAN. Congratulations man... good luck finding a job. I don't know anyone in Houston other than my buddy whos recruiting there.

Thanks everyone. TBHWY, I would have probably stayed in, but b/c I am fat and lazy I kind of got forced out. I was having problems with the running portion of the test, had no motivation to try to get better at it, and with my shore duty ending, my wife didn't want me going back to sea duty anyways, especially with a 1.5yr old son.

Ahhhh! i see... sorry to hear that. well its better to struggle a lil... or a lot to know your watching and being there while your son grows up, then to be away at sea or away at all. So best of luck to you again hope me and christain can meet up with you someday before you leave.

I saw Long Beach and never though any military was up there! I figured you for some younger kid (early 20's probably!). It's amazing how deceiving the i-net can be! lol

Hey I'm back and boy has a lot changed since I've been gone! For those that don't know me, I left for a 6 month deployment on January 4th and we pulled back in to San Diego yesterday (July 6th). I am attached to the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) which is the Navy's newest aircraft carrier. We hit up a lot of nice ports... Brisbane, Australia... Singapore... Jebel Ali & Dubai, UAE (3X)... Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia... Hong Kong, China... and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii!I can totally understand you getting out. They pretty much kicked a lot of people out of the Navy from our ship for being out of weight/measurement standards. I guess the Navy is finding every way possible to downsize.Well good luck with Texas! I know that's where you belong. Cali is too expensive. Just wanted to say thanks for serving and continue what you're doing on your kick (removed) Vibe!!

I just saw it on the news the other day that the Reagan was back in SD. Sounds like fun, I miss the boat, and miss the paycheck!
