As far a a stock motor what type of boost can we run inorder not to cause damage to the engine and what type of up grades will we need to make to not blow the motor? What all is going to come with the kit will we be able to get the EMS like you have as well or is that more if we want that?

WOW!! I was a little skeptic when I saw you posted this on 4/1 (possible April fools), but wow, that is awesome!! I would love to do that to my GT. That MR2 is putting out 327 whp with a 2zz swap!!

Thanks Rio for posting this here! ...and welcome to genvibe! There may not be as many "motor-heads" here as on MatrixOwners.com, but there will be definitely a few who will be very interested in this package. I am excited, and waiting to see the dyno results! I also want your opinion on the use of this kit on a daily driver. Please keep us updated over here as well. Thanks again.

A quick question, since I blew the back out of my Girls transmission with 180hp.What kind of transmission mods are going to be done to keep are transmissions togethere, with all the added horse power.I'm very interested!

Subie's kick booty! probably just trying to make waves. and i still miss my VGT. had it been full time AWD, or even selectable 4wd (now that would have been PERFECT!) then there wouldn't have been a need to get rid of it.

Just reading over a few questions,1-a clutch upgrade is a MUST this kit will put your ride in the 300 horsepower range..were running an ACT heavy duyty 6 puck. These engines and trannies are a lot tougher than you guys think (theres 2zz's out there putting down 360whp on to internals now ) and if you dont go NUTS on boost your trannie is fine..But the stock yoda clutchs are complete garbage. Also the kits are available for all 2zz's and all 1zz's manual and auto...also this is a full complete kit all the way down to spark plugs, sealants, boost gauge, oil filter, perfect map for your engine managment ,high volume injectors,etc,etc...theres nothing other than engine oil and to install the kit...Hass also has a help tech line for install questions but instructions are included...

How about I send you the bill for my girls transmission that I had to buy. The back of the case broke off and was still attached to the rear mount. It has to be a common problem because When I went looking for used ones on car-parts.com there were quite a few that said rear mount repaired. So I'm sorry to differ with you, but these transmissions are not stronger then we think.

Dyno results in292whp at 9psi -with 13% drive train loss thats 330horsepower at the crank (stock)more to come

I fully respect your opinion ,time will tell in this case...292whp is an extreme amount of power to the ground in a Matrix...Most guys may not choose to run this high a boost setting...me thats a differant story.

I miss banging gears. LOL

Pics of any trannie beef ups would be fantastic, for all us guys...As of now Im looking at C2s trannie upgrade package in unison with Quaife LSD .The only reason Im looking is plans for more HP.The only downside with the C2 setup is with the dog gears its increadably noisy, like a Nascar Trannie or a drifting Skyline were you really dont even have to clutch it you just slam the gears, very loud whining sounds though...I really think unless I push 400 Ill be fine unless Im at the track or strip every Fri. night. lol Obviously a grocery getter wasnt designed for 12/13 sec.1/4 miles every Fri. night but hey thats what makes it so fun>>>

ya, as much fun as it'd have been to have a turbo on my old VGT, i am glad i went with the LGT upgrade. i'd rather get a car that was made for a turbo that i can spend a little money to tweak here or there and still make some awesome power, have techs that know what to do with the turbo since they work on them daily. my car has only been wrenched on by subie techs and employees. for $800 total, i've gained about 50 whp and over 100 lb-ft tq with just a few small mods. the car is spitting out (my (removed) dyno and judging from other's dyno's with same mods and tranny) about 250-260 awhp and 320-340 lb-ft tq. with about a 22% loss (awd) that's about 310-320 hp and insane tq! right now, it's TOO much power that i have a tough time controlling it (thus supported by my crappy autocross times and constant cone eating). i cannot imagine having my VGT with 292 whp and expecting it to survive me for longer than a few months! lolas for me... i will be racing just about every weekend in my "conservative" LGT. some of the heavy modders with swapped trannies and turbo upgrades are doing well over 300-400 awhp! and the sti guys? hell, i know one of the guys i talk to on the forums (also owns an LGT like mine) pulling over 600 awhp! these cars though, were made for this type of abuse... ok maybe not totally true, but they are made for and around a turbo. just like the vw's and audis (i've been extremely impressed with them as many of the subie owners have switched to the A4 and S4), they are made for such tuning and modding. as long as you don't use your car as a daily driver and keep it relatively "conservative" you can make a lot of power with less $$$ on these kind of cars and still keep your warranty.i will say, if i'd kept my vibe gt and had the $$$ to slap on a turbo for the hell of it, oh ya! you KNOW I WOULD!

well, hubby is a member on here too (Mavrik). that's how we met waay back when. he's been auto-crossing his vibe as well, doing much better than i. he's more patient and more controlled than i am in my LGT. still learning to really drive it you know. we just got into the racing thing this past fall, right before the winter, now we're getting into it this summer. it's a lot of fun and something we're both enjoying together. and i'm also on MO, but haven't been much lately since i don't have the VGT anymore. i think i've got about 3K posts there too (from my 1000 posts in 10 days post-(removed)-athon). we have some friends that own EVO's. they are incredible cars! we've been very active in the subie/audi/evo crowd since last year when I bought the LGT. needed an AWD classy and professional looking vehicle vs my rice rocket vibe i had. of course, the LGT is slammed almost to the ground, just the OEM 17's still, some performance mods and such, dark tint, etc. i do miss my VGT. if it wasn't for needed my car as my main source of income (outside sales) and my daily driver, had i kept my VGT, then i'd be following in your footsteps! lol who knows, maybe we'll end up turbo'ing Mav's base Vibe when we get his STI in a yr or so. that way, we can turn the vibe into an auto-cross car. it handles and corners soooo much better than mine! :D
