Extended Warranty Concerns

Hey guys, I'm coming up on 60,000 miles, and I received an offer in the mail for an extended warranty of an additional 100,000 or 5 more years, $0 deductible, for $1,322 through "The Choice". I grilled the rep about my AM performance mods - intake/exhaust/motor mounts/shorft shifter (did not include the unichip, as I would just remove it) and whether or not they would impact coverage on the engine or tranny. After discussing it with his 2 supervisors, he tells me that my mods would NOT impact coverage, and that the warranty would be honored.Of course, before I make a decision on this, I'll expect this in writing from them.Anyway, is $1,322 a good deal for this?

wow thats a crapload of money. i never get the extended warranty on cars, my mechanic also said its not worth it. If your car has had previous problems then maybe, otherwise these little vibes should last over 200k pretty easily with small parts being replaced for normal wear and tear.

I've never had to have any warranty work done .

With a manual i think the thing you have to worry about going bad is the clutch, but if that goes you can get a performance one unless you already have one. I would say it depends on how you drive your car? if you beat it and race then it might be good to get a warranty, if you drive "normal" then your prolly safe. I think theres only a couple of people on the site that had issues with the car, CP and maybe someone else, but their issues with the car started fairly eary on. mine is about to hit 36k so ill be out of warranty soon too but ive had no mechanical issues in the last 10k (since ownership)
