Hey guys, first post. I've been hunting around looking at Vibes, my new wife really likes them. I found a 2005 Silver base Auto-Under 10k miles-Moons/Toons-Auto-All power and Cruise-Alloys-Not sure what else, probably missing somethingIt's in good shape, has a small scratch on the bumper. The only thing I don't like about it is the grey body cladding. The dealer was asking $17.9k plus tax/feesI got him down to $15.5k out the doorIs this a good price or should I keep looking? Car price before fees is $13.7k, KBB is $17kThanks

I don't know about prices, can't help you thereI have a silver with the gray cladding. I bought from dealer stock, and am not sure what I would have chosen, but I rationalize the cladding with the knowledge that if I ever need to replace any of it, it will be a lot cheaper since I don't have to get it painted to match the rest of the car.

well, with all the bells and whistles, that is not a bad price at all.

Well my fiance got hers about 2 months ago and its an 06 black monotone with tunes, power, side rockers, alloys, and remote entry for about 17K they brought it down from the rediculous 20K.But all in all good luck.... they are good reliable cars!

Was it an auto or stick, and was that out the door pricing?

That is a good deal. Its a almost fully loaded vibe, probably missing the sport kit, but thats just spoilers and such. I paid 12.5k for a 04 with 26k miles, almost a year ago. I say do it, good deal for 15.

The plastic cladding is also a lifesaver in door-ding prone parking lots. Especially in angled spots, where if someone opens the door to far, it's probably going to hit the cladding instead of the paint...much better since the cladding won't chip and it's a lot harder to dent.

New for 17.3k? I assume before taxes and fees.? That is a good point on the body cladding, never looked at it that way.I'd like to get it under 15k, but that is going to be tough.

It will cuz its a new car... but its used! so throw the whole i can get a new one for 2K more!!! then say well then i might go look elsewhere.We were just lookin and she wanted it but knew we werent gonna get it that day... they kept on lowering to a 17K with 5% interest and a 279 payment a month!I was shocked... her grandma co-signed so it was easier to get it low interest... but the price for how good it looked was great

I got my used vibe from Hertz used car sales, They had the cheapest vibes in a 5 state area around me, you could check that out. They sell only cars that have not been in accidents or have had any major issuess. http://www2.hertzcarsales.com/findcar/index.html

Was not worth the $300 extra to me.

My tax on my car was like, 700 or 800. But thats in MN could be different in other places.

Yeah the 1.8k taxes and fees are what is bothering me. Taxes are 8.1 percent, which is about $1100. So I don't see why it costs $700 to title it. I'm going to have to work on that. The dealer doesn't want to budge at all, but I'll just have to see.

I got my 05 GT for $16.3k w/ 275 miles on it. It's monotone, no other options...no power windows or locks.

Might want to try http://www.edmunds.com for a pricing report in addition to the KBB report you did. Edmunds takes more into account the details of the car and what comparable cars are selling for in your area to give a more accurate value.Also might be worth checking out http://www.nadaguides.com. It's what the insurance industry uses to value vehicles and many used car dealers use them also.It's going to be difficult for people here to give an accurate value of the car you're looking at because the value can vary greatly by region. It might only be worth $13K on the market in one area of the country, but worth $17K on the market in another area. Just depends on local demand and how badly the seller wants to sell the car.

Well I bought it. Got it for $14,930 out the door. I'm picking it up on Friday night, had to wiat for the loan paperwork. Under 15k for a fairly loaded car with under 10k miles. So I guess I'm pretty happy with it, it's for the new wife.Good point on the different regions, and the pricing that went along with it. The lowest I could get another dealer was 14,800 for an 04 with 30k miles and no sunroof. I don't think I could find one much cheaper than this in my area.

LOL! 2 for 1 deal huh? Thanks for congrats. I'm just glad I can get my truck back. I had it for a week, then her car got totaled by an illegal. So she took my wheels, and I communited on a sportbike.

That sucks... well when you pick her up, take pics, o and of the bike... it just sound sweet!
