Sooooooooo dfjlkafoid OFF right now... COSMO RACING SUCKS..the piping doesnt fit right. and the filter wont fit cuz the fog light backing would be in the way like 5 inches. and the tube coming out of the engine in the 05-06 wont reach and there was no tubing included and i went to the local pepboys to get a piece that might work. of course it didnt cuz one sides like 2" big and there good ol inlet is only like 1/2" big!Im sooo mad... Ill post pics in a few of how crappy they made my intake and im gonna "get dropped off" at work tomorrow and then after take it apart and call them and send that **** back.I know you guys love yours and all but i know im not stupid and i know how to make things work if its physically possible.I dont know just venting on how COSMO is unprofessional.... i guess me and damronjr get screwed on our parts! Some input or advice would help my poor lil soul!!!

I'll give you any advice and or help that I can... I just put mine on last weekend.Sounds like you are going to have to mod your intake like I did with mine.

There should be a hose included which just slides inside the stock hose and connects to the intake. There is an extra small connection on the CAI which has a cap on it, it stays capped. If you cut a few inches off the CAI on the filter end it will fit better behind the foglight. It is a very tight squeeze to fit the intake in place. I did my '06 a few months ago and had no problem at all. I can post some pictures of the extended hose hook up if you want.

Sure the more pics the merrier... I know i can get it to work... i talked to toasted7 last night for a while about it.Ima get the hosing for it today and then call them... suppposedly theres a rubber 90 that came with his and his fits fine... im really tryin to avoid chopping it up but its a last resort...Im putting the stock one back in today till i get what i need to put the lil SOB back in and not have to curse every bad word imaginable because it doesnt have everything i need and have downtime! Thanks for all the info and support!

Fact is, Cosmo makes their intakes for the Matrix, not the Vibe (last time I checked - I could be wrong), which means they don't compensate for our LH foglight. Unfortunately, you simply have to muscle it into place.Good luck Mike!

I think its like a 1/8" size... and a 10mm head. not sure. And I gotta go to autozone or pepboys and get the right size tubing that will fit the enigine and the inlet. As far as the foglight goes... i can i fudge the filter on there and have the piping take up half of the inside of the filer??? would that mess up the airflow?

I would cut it enough to have it on there properly otherwise you might as well not even bother because you won't see any gains. Is it possible to rotate the intake tube assembly towards you so it changes the angle of the tube at the fog light? I have a two piece ebay CAI on before I installed my Weapon-R Intake adn I had to do a little extra rotating to get everything to fit nicely. It would have been a ***** if it was a one piece.I know it seems discouraging right now but once you get it completed it will be sweet because you will be one of only a few '05-'06's DBW with a CAI. It will be worth the effort in the end. Trust me, we all have been there before. Your success will be sweeter when its done.

A quick tip I figured out is to apply a little bit of soapy water to the inside lip of the filter. When I first installed my Injen CAI, it was such a PIA to install as well. When I cleaned my filter last fall, getting the filter to slide on was a pain again. I then tried a little soapy water and it slid right on!

I love it.But its a ***** to put in. i finally got the tubing on and the filter wouldnt play nice... then the inlet kept poping off the intake...Overall its nice and i love that throaty sound! Thanks again for all the info and help! the pics of the tubing i had to use... i used the stock copper clamp to keep the tubing from bending right there! GHETTO!

It doesn't look bad at all. It looks really good. It's not centered on the TB but you couldn't tell unless you were really looking at it. Nice work! It is worth the effort in the long run.

make sure you let the car idle for aobut 10 mins or so for the ECU to get used to it (a little). don't go too crazy for the first 3 drive cycles, that's when CEL's come on. stay away from the CEL! lol

thanks guys... i let it idle for about 15-20 minutes... I actually drove a quite a while with it!!!So i hope i dont get a CEL light!!!NO CEL, NO CEL!!!!

you'll only get a cel if something went wrong during the install. like blowing a MAF or having a vac line on wrong. I could be mistaken but I think the most CAI installs with resulting cel lights were mostly GT models? But like I said I could be wrong.

I can't wait to help him install his once he actually gets one. And wow I had forgotten how much fun mine was since its been a year since I have had it on.I let it rip... oh and for those who know me... NO CEL! haha I installed it right this time.

What amazes me is that no other company has marketed a CAI for the '05,'06, what a friggin' gold mine.

one thing to keep in mind when ordering Matrix/Vibe parts... they are designed to fit the mechanics of both... yet for example the Vibe bumper is different from the Matrix. our Vibes have the fog light right below our air filters, the 03-04 Matrix didn't. Now the new Matrix has the foglight in the same place as us but its still different. Sure it says "Fits Matrix and Vibe... yet I bet it fits the Matrix better... ah well lol. you got it to work.
