Problem with brakes.......

well i changed my front brakes......but now my brake pedal, i gotta push all the way down.....what did i do wrong???? thank you!!!

#1, you'll need to start the engine and pump the brakes several, several times after you've installed new pads - the pedal will be very spongy at first but should firm up after a few pumps...#2, did you disconnect the brake lines by any chance? If so, you probably have air in the system which will need to be bled out. Air in the system can definitely cause what you're describing. I'm not sure of the acutal process for this car, I didn't have to do that when I changed mine, I would suggest checking the softcopy service manual... But it usually just amounts to loosening the bleeder valve while someone pumps the brakes a few times...

I was thinking the same thing but I too do not know how to bled the brakes on this car.
