Hey- I haven't seen much sign of anyone from the Indianapolis area around here- Am I just blind, or are there not that many of us?If it's more than just me, I think it'd be cool to do some kind of a mini-meet or something... Anyone interested?

Depending on when it is... I may drive over for it.

I'm an hour and a half away. Would definitely consider coming though would highly depend on the date. Summer's are rather hectic for me but would still love to join in. Dave

Depending upon the dates, I'd be up for it. For about two weeks in mid-June, I'll be two hours north of Indie at the Parents' place.

I could probably cruise up that way depending on when it is... I'm about two hours south of Indy.

Pick a date & location--I'm just half-an-hour north up I-65.If any of you are auto racing fans, there are 3 events at the Indianapolis Morot Speedway (May, June, & August) - maybe meet on a practice or qualifying day??? I'd probably be there for either the IRL or the NASCAR qualifying anyway.Ponyota (Lafayette) also mentioned a possible Indiana mini-meet last summer at the Fenton Supermeet.

I know that this post is nearly a year old, but if something like this occurs in 2007, I am (depending on where in Indy) 45 min. to an hour and a half away and could easily make it; especially on a weekend.

I'm ~ 30 minutes away. Is there any interest in a May, June, or August mini-meet at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during practice/qualifying for the 500, F1 or the 400?

I know of a mini-meet occuring today involving about 40 of you Indianapolis guys ... right here in Baltimore.

i think i could talk hubby into it. he goes to indy for MAgic the Gathering pre-release stuff anyway. my concern is if we run into "race weekend" for the mini-meet it will be a FUBAR trying to get around down there.yup, the mom-mobile may just show up. gawd knows i need all the help i can get. go colts.

Yes, there should be times in any of the above where I would be able to make it. Of course, there is a week sometime in June, where I will be out of state on vacation. Not sure when, though (yet). Otherwise, all should be good. I do agree with the previous post, though... if this accidentally gets timed to coincide with the Indy 500, that would be a mess! Tentatively speaking, what do you guys think? And yes, Go Colts! (they are 12-6 as I type this)

BTW, for those few who actually care, the Colts 'mini-meet' in Baltimore was a great success for the Indianapolis Colts! 15-6 over the Ravens, on 5 Adam Vinatieri field goals.Actually, I was thinking of a practice or qualifying day mini-meet, like Saturday, May 19th, 3rd day qualifying (weather permitting), not on an actual race day. BTW, there are no general admission tickets to the Brickyard 400 on race day, NASCAR policy.I grew up in Speedway, 1 mile from the track, so the traffic never bothered me, except during the 2-3 hours immediately before the green flag, and the 3-4 hours immediately after the checkered flag on race day. The rest of the time, it was pretty normal except within about 4 blocks of the track in all directions.Link to all Indpls Motor Speedway event info -->http://www.indy500.comI know most everyone has to work, but 'Community Day' is Wednesday, May 23rd. You get to drive your car around the track at slow speed, and pay handsomely to order online your car's picture taken crossing the start-finish line at SLOW speed.

May 19th works for me, if this is a general consensus from most of the others. I've been to Speedway on multiple occasions in the past and could easily get there again. Heck, I may even stop in Zionsville on the way in for a little nostalgic sightseeing, since I used to work there.Now as to the 23rd, that one is definitely out of the question, because I have to work during the week. Anyone else?
