Honestly, I've only had limited exposure to XM so I can't really say much of anything about it. But from what little I've heard, I think I've made the right choice with Sirius. They have more programming that appeals to me, and there's just something different about the way Sirius does things that I like better. I can't really explain that one.

I'm a Sirius guy myself, but we've had a couple good discussions on which one and why here:

It's really a question of what programming you like. Muscially I think they are very similar. I have had XM for 2+ years now and still love it. XM has all MLB games; Sirius has all NFL games (I think). Sirius has Howard Stern; XM is getting Oprah in the fall (BFD IMO ). Both cost roughly the same - take your pick and don't look back.

Totally depends on what you listen to. I personally think Sirius repeats more on their music channels than XM..

XM if you like music, news and traffic (in limited areas)Sirius if you like sports, music, newsI beleive they cost the same. I use XM, very little problems (except getting over the hangup of paying for radio). XM also has a website that will stream XM to your PC, great for working out if your PC is close by and doesnt cost any extra.

My vote is for Sirius, and I don't give a damn about Stern. It also helps that my wife's uncle is a jock on the oldies channel, so I am a bit biased. Hope this helps.

What gets me is that you have to call or go online to sign up for the new Playboy channel to be active on the receiver - yet they'll give you Stern no questions asked. Yeah, ok... (removed)!

He's Norm N. Nite, on channel 5 in the afternoons. He does his show from the Rock Hall.

I have been an XM user, but am not using either right now. I found after a few months that I'd prefer to program it myself with my iPod and CDs.There is not a lot of difference between XM and Sirius in programming these days - other than the fact that one has the MLB and one has the NFL exclusive right now. My recommendation would be to get to a Circuit City or Best Buy and listen to some of the in-store displays (most of them allow you to listen to their whole line-up) to see which has the best line-up for your tastes. If both are the same, XM is cheaper per month and their Roady series of recievers is affordable and has a good set of features, if you don't want to install an XM radio right away in the dash.
