Hey guys, the rear bumper on my 05 vibe bothers me b/c it's a rough texture and the rest of the cladding is smooth and it's different shade of grey that the rest. Is this normal? I hope not. I bought it used about 2 weeks ago. I've looked at a new 06 the other day and its bumper is smooth (not painted). i've search on this and havent found much, so I just thought I would ask. Maybe I can find another in a junk yard. I guess all bumpers from vibes match, right? Thanks for any info

Mabie it was in a wreck and replaced? Mabie that one is newer than the other clading. and the front and sides are sun faded?(if u dont wash and armor-all it it will naturally fade if the previous owners left it outside) All years of the vibes have the same rear bumpers i belive.

hmmm.... the textured cladding is for the two-tone vibes before 05 i think...the smooth cladding is for the monotone models. i'd take it back to the dealer and ask what's up

Yeah it's not normal, take it to the dealer.I have a two toned vibe and when the idiot tried to fix my car he replaced the bumper with a monotone bumper that was spray painted grey to match the rest of hte cladding. I tried telling him that the grey plastic is not painted so it would be impossible to match but obviously he wasn't listening to me. Mine is the other way around though, the rest of my cladding is slightely textured and the spray paitned bumper is smoother. Of course it is like 2 shapes darker and when it rains and gets wet its about 4 shades darker!!!

I asked him about it, but he said that since it was used he couldn't just give me a new bumper. I'm not too worried about it. I just wondered if that's how they were supposed to be. I'm going to try and find another one or consider having all the cladding painted. Has anyone thought of having it painted a different color than the rest of the car. Mine is Moonstone and I thought that black would look cool. thanks

No one has done it but I think it would look great. I was thinking about painting mine dark grey with a nice clear over it like the Voltz has in Japan so it shines with the rest of hte paint.

I'm going to take some pics of my car this weekend and photoshop them to see what it would look like.
