Have I got a Deal for YOU guys!

I'm thinking we should have a meet this summer in...get ready for this...South Dakota!! There's a zoo right across the street from my house with a BIG parking lot. I'm less than a mile away from the Pontiac dealership in town. And here's the best part--I need new windows in my house BAD, so instead of just standing around talking about cars, everyone could be installing windows in my little dinky house talking about cars! How's that for a plan?

Hey, sounds fun.

I've been sending out resumes looking for jobs back home. We're hoping to move back to Sioux Falls this summer.

I figured everyone would think it's FUN. How cool would that be, to have a parking lot full of Vibe's, and all the people working on my house???! (Well, Vibes AND Millster)

You supply the beer and members will come. My house was built in 1922 and I have been replacing the windows the last 1-1/2. It sure does make a difference during the winter and summer if you run A/C. I'll be placing another order soon for another four more windows. That will finish the downstairs. After doing them so many times it only takes me about 45 Min's. per unit. Good luck with them. I think that's my problem too. My house was built in the 50's, on the cheap, for soldiers coming back from WWII. I'm thinking the windows are probably original. I can tell they are not real energy efficient, and the lady who lived there before me probably hadn't opened them in 20 years, so some of them I can't even GET open, even after eating Wheeties. So I'd like to get some new double hungs that will save me on energy. Unfortunately, I don't have any money earmarked for this so I don't know how I'm going to be able to do it. Unless you guys come help me! Mrizzle, I think you misread my post as attitude--it really wasn't at all! So Rasermon, can I ask you...approximately how much are they costing you?

I've probably drawn a lot of the doors for those houses you've drawn. We sell a lot of our doors to homes in CA.I've helped out building houses for Habitat for Humanity, occasionally. I haven't installed windows yet, just framing the houses so far.

Vinyl replacement windows are a great choice as they are very easy to maintain and will never require painting. Wood replacement windows are still the most popular option when replacing your home's windows. I went with Vinyl to help keep the cost down. Most of my windows downstairs are 28" wide X 66" tall. The average cost was $180.00 per window. The replacement window manufacturer I went with is Jen-Weld Windows purchase at our local Menard's.

Well, my bf said that my house would be easier than most, but I'm not sure why. My house is stucco, and I know parts of it are concrete (I think...hmm, I'm sounding very stupid here), and apparently it would be easier than I think. So at 200 bucks a window for 10 windows in my house... homeownership sucks sometimes.
