Kumho Ecsta ASX - Good or Bad?

It may be the BF Goodrich g-Force Sport is too aggressive of a tire for my daily driving/commuting.The Kumho Ecsta ASX seems to be a better tire for daily driving. Has anyone used these and have any comments? I would use either the 215/50-17 or 225/45-17 size. Thanks - Dave

I have and like them - good all-weather traction and a good treadwear rating (420), although, they seem to wear a little more than I'd expect them to. My tire shop says it could be due to worn struts...I think he's full of poo.I can understand very worn struts causing extra bounce, which could lead to more cupping, but my ride doesn't "bounce" anymore than it did when I first installed my springs.Anyway, they were a definite improvement over my Nankang NS-II's (crapola in comparison).

I'd definitely buy them again. In fact, I'm going to have to in the next few weeks. Tirerack's price has dropped last I saw for my 18-40-225's, from $100 each to $85 I think. They are some of the cheapest and best tires around IMO. You'll see they are highly rated on tirerack.com.

I've got 28K on my 16's and, like Psychobroker, I've got a little more wear than I expected. Got mine at Discount Tire and the guys there said that wear was typical. I think part of my problem was not getting an alignment right after I put in the new springs, but overall am pleased with the performance. I do have one tire that goes low every 1000 miles or so, but it's not bad.

Sounds like the Kumho is the right tire for my daily commute. I have tried to insert a photo of the Voxx Toscana wheel that I have found - but it looks like attaching a file may be the only way I can do it. I will also attach a link just in case the file doesn't work. There are brand new and still in shipping to the dealers. I am not fond of wheels with 10 holes for 5 wheel bolts (two bolt patterns), or wheels with fake rivets or allen bolts, and the Mille Miglia wheels are very nice - except I don't like that raised area where the spoke meets the rim. These are nice 5 spoke wheels with clean lines and a polished stainless lip....and the price is very nice.http://www.discounttiredirect....07423Thanks for your input on the tires.Dave
