Hello good people of genvibe. I need your help. Where can I buy a replacement for the plastic part that kind of insulate or keep the rain out on the door? Its the black plastic that goes around the door of the car. I bought my car used and this car was repo by the last owner's bank. They jimmied the door and left the plastic part all ripped up. I was wondering if this part is replaceable? Thanks.

I'm guessing that it is rubber, and not plastic, and you will have to get that from the dealer. Have them look at the car, so you get the right part. You should be able to install it yourself. Not real difficult. Not any harder than getting dressed in the morning !

for a 2003 it was and probably still is #88969773 for a left weatherstrip assembly. that is the weatherstrip around the door. how does the weatherstrip around the body door opening if that is also damaged it would be #88970318 check with the dealer on the verification of part # for the left doorhope this helps

If its this piece, and this is the one scherry2 was referring to, it's easy to replace. Here's a pic of my weatherstrip that was abused by yours truly getting in and out of the car too much. I replaced it at the Ohio meet last year in a few minutes, the worst part was dealing with the heat!

I'm on #2 weatherstrip on the door ring on my vibe, my carhart coat chews it up in that spot all winter long.
