How do ya tighten the hood release?

I guess I've stretched out the cable or something for the hood release. It's really slacked and wont release until you get just passed the levers limit. Anyone with a repair manual know where I should start looking to tighten up the cable?

there is no tightening of the cable. you could twist the cable with a needle nose pliers up close to the hood latch to tighten it some.

Someone give me some more insight in this area? I can't make twisting the cable work in my head because its something you pull on... wont it just untwist? Somebody surely can make this a little more clear to me.

There's no adjusting nut on either end of the cable? Is there a plastic bushing that's broken or a metal tab you could bend to remove the slack?
