Any "iridium" plug would be best, preferably Denso or NGK. Don't use platinum, split-fires, or anything but iridium plugs.

ok....i will go with the iridium plugs..but mu buddy who works at a parts store told me that bosch makes the denso's right of the same lines that make there own plugs.....the ngk's are about 16$ a set at crappy tire...and the denso's i will have to ge from the dealer....have to wait and see how much those are.

The Iridium IX are better than the stock ones but still Iridium. You can get a whole set for like 10$ or so on ebay.

Yikes! Hows that for a markup! I went to AutoZone and found the same Densos that were in it originally for US $54 for all four. I thought that was a ripoff.

just a little tip... never talk to a Pontiac dealer for our car.they don't know jack about it... they hike up all the parts prices... the parts come in Toyota packaging and get restickered on the way to GM.The only thing the GM dealer is good for is body panels and trim that we don't share with the Matrix, everything else see our Japanese counterparts. It really is a joke how ridiculous it is, read other posts and it will show the stupidity. just one eg. that shift interlock cover everyone was talking about is like $5 at Toyota or you can get the Pontiac one for like $35? just stupidNGK's are the way to go... no doubt. Well done.CAN-AWD-VIBE

Depends on the NGK plug... stock replacement Iridiums are PN 4996. The Iridium IX are PN 5464. I'm running the IXs in my car...

So do you change the plugs at 100Kms? What is the service date on that?

So, question... would you folks here say you get better gas mileage with the NKG's or the Iridrium IX's over the stock ones?

I just received my NGK IXs from amazon. $27.00 shipped. Im at 115K so its right about time. Im hoping for some better mileage or smoother idle/throttle response ( not that I had any idle problems before ) My gas mileage hasnt changed since I bought the car 28-29 MPG city/hwy, so we will see.
