the magnaflow is what I have and all I can say is WOW. sounds and performs great. And for the price you cant beat it. the piping is 2.25 i believe. It is very nice though. not annoying but sporty and definitley accents the intake at WOT

ok cool, i know magnaflow sells different series, what series should i get for best performance and is it gonna sound like a rice burner, also was the performance noticable, the CAI was, but not much, and lastly (sorry for all the questions btw^^) should i go from the catt converter back with the new intake pipe? and should it be stainless metal? thanks again. n_n

The performance gain is small as well. You really wont see large increases in performance unless you go with a turbo or a supercharger. The cat back exhaust from magnaflow starts right before the stock resinator and replaces the rest of the piping back. It is all stainless steel and mandrel bent.

No it doesnt sound like a riceburner. yes you notice a sligt increase in performance and yes they only make one type for the vibe. just make sure you order one for a base vibe or matrix. It really sounds great. nice and throaty. there on ebay right now for 427 shipped.

Magnaflow is also the only out-of-the-box cat-back system for the Vibe (that I know of). The only other options are to either go full custom with your choice of cats, reso, piping and muffler, or go with an axel-back (borla, thermal R&D, TRD or now Vibrant) + a JP midpipe. I am not sure, but I seem to remember seeing a post that reflected slightly better gains from TRD axelback+JP midpipe vs. Magnaflow cat-back, but I'm not sure. I KNOW the cost would be double. Really, the JP midpipe would be a viable option for anyone that already has a cat-back and doesn't want to spend more for Magnaflow or ~$200 more for full custom. The JP midpipe is not cheap, as this group-buy thread shows that it ran MORE than the Magnaflow itself:
http://matrixowners.com/forums/-t40999.htmlYes I know that's for the 1zz, but I think they have one for the 2zz too.If you can get away with it (i.e. emission controls in your state), a custom exhaust with high-flow muffler, resonator, and 2.5" diameter piping would be optimal. Anything over 2.5" might lower your backpressure too much.

$427.00 shipped, Oh my God that's expensive. I paid $310.00 less than 3 months ago.

I was wondering about the back pressure issue but I was not sure. Therefore, if you hear any pops trouble may arise, correct? In addition, I've heard that Borla exhaust system is about the safest system for the Vibes, however, the gains are not as high as other brands. But, other brands with the higher gains could possibly cause some trouble.

Magnaflow's works perfectly, and will give you much better gains than Borla, for less $.
