My CarPC is under my passenger seat.If you have just a video unit, you could put it anywhere, under the pass or driver seat would be best for access. You could also hide it under the rear seats or even behind the dash.If it's a navigation unit you want it under the driver or passenger seat so they gyro will work correctly.

I am getting an AVIC-N1 so it will be mounted in the dash, i will probably put the brain under the rear seat with my amp and sirius tuner. I still want to get headrest tvs and a visor but we will see what the future has in store

If you're doing the N1, you want to put the brain under one of the front seats for sure. This is due to the navigational components and how they work. You could try putting it under the back seat, but i'm pretty sure the manuals say to put it closer to center, plus the thing has to be pretty much horizontal, whereas under the back seat there's a slight angle (plus some weight on it when you sit down!)The other concern i'd have is the AV connections, you could bend the connectors pretty bad if someone sits down hard. With a system like that, you should really consider stuffing it under the passenger seat. Just my opinion!

yep, i'm completely redoing the Car PC set up. moving the PC to the trunk of the car and affixing the LCD to the dash with something OTHER than electrical tape! LOLthis project seems like it never really ends! i have to rewire the USB hub and rethink my wireless keyboard and mouse. I got a trackball instead of the mouse so that it'll be much easier to navigate the screens without having to move my hand all over the place in the car! going to try and do a direct connect to the battery and see if this will resolve my power issues of rebooting when the ignition is turned from ACC position. any suggestions from you car audio guys?? i tell you, when i did have everything up and working correctly, they come in very very handy!

Hope, how is your power situation working? How're things hooked up now?I know that my problem is the ACC shuts off when I start the car. I have a little thing that can be done with diodes that'll 'merge' power from ACC and IGN without affecting anything else that'll allow power to continue going to my power controller when I turn on the car..Generally the CarPC thing is a work in progress until you get things mostly working the way you want, then..if you don't fiddle with it, it should keep working for a good long time!
