Anyone Gone Skating on the Canal?

So the canal is open... anyone gone for a skate yet? I wanted to go this weekend, but the windchill is -25 (its -17 without the windchill) so its a bit chilly for me! I can't wait to go and get some beavertails and hot chocolate! I skate absolutely horribly so if I'm out there and a fellow genviber is out there at the same time, you'll know its me, by the klutzy way I (don't) skate.

I live in a warm climate. That is what I miss about living up north. I am envyous of these pics. I miss the bitter cold winters. I miss the change in seasons and I miss the snow. Salsa these pics are beautiful. This is the firast time in awhile that I have wanted to go back up north and live. Oh well. I will get over it.

Really Cold weather doesn't bother me. I wear windbreakers when it 40 degress F outside. I don't mind being cold. Now being hot sucks. I live int eh wrong state. I hate 95 degrees everyday in the summer and the humidity is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

The coldest I have been in is -10 F. I have never worn so many coats in my life, but it still didn't bother me. I thought it was fun. If I had to be in that type of cold for more thatn 2 months then it would get a little old.

So I went skating on the canal today. I find I can't go very far because my skates are so painful. I got men's size 9 skates 2 years ago, so I can't believe they don't fit. I'm a women's size 10, so men's 9's should fit. Anyway we started at the Dow's Lake Paviliion and I got to the first set of Beavertail huts right where the canal meets Dow's Lake. Stopped there and had some hot chocolate and a cinammon and sugar beavertail. YUMMY!

Went skating on the canal on Sunday! It was great. Also I went skating at the Corel Center where the Sens play and that was really cool as well.
