An elderly Florida lady did her shopping and, upon returning to her car, found four males in the act of leaving with her vehicle. She dropped her shopping bags and drew her handgun, proceeding to scream at the top of her voice, "I have a gun, and I know how to use it! Get out of the car!" The four men didn't wait for a second invitation. They got out and ran like mad. The lady, somewhat shaken, then proceeded to load her shopping bags into the back of the car and got into the driver's seat. She was so shaken that she could not get her key into the ignition. She tried and tried, and then it dawned on her why...For the same reason she did not understand why there was a football, a frisbee and two 12 packs in the front seat... A few minutes later, she found her own car parked four or five spaces farther down. She loaded her bag s into the car and drove to the police station to report her mistake. The sergeant to whom she told the story couldn't stop laughing. He pointed to the other end of the counter, where four pale men were reporting a car jacking by a mad, elderly woman described as white, less than five feet tall, glasses, curly white hair and carrying a large handgun. No charges were filed. MORAL OF THE STORY? If you're going to have a Senior Moment, make it memorable.

I read a *true* story similar to that years and years ago from somewhere in Indiana.A couple came out from shopping, put their key in the doorlock of their AMC, opened it, got in the car, put the ignition key in the ignition, turned it, the car started, and they drove off...A couple miles down the road, they start realizing that it's not their stuff in the car. They return to where they were parked, and spied an identically colored car, with an older couple standing near it, looking puzzled.Long story short, they contacted AMC, who had one of their number crunchers work the math. There were some 20-odd different ignition key combinations for that car. There were some 20-odd different doorlock key combinations for that car. There were 8 different paint colors available for that car that year.25*25*8 = 1 car in 5000 would have the same color/key combination.Multiply that by the number of cars that they sold. And the number of states that they were sold in.and the number of cars in that parking lot.and the odds that two identical cars would park right next to each other in that parking lot...The actuaries figured the odds of that particular circumstance happening were several trillion to one.(of course, several trillion intances of "people getting into their cars after shopping" have since happened - which means that it's quite likely it's happened again, more than once!)
