DEALER DIDNT CHARGE ME FOR AWD...

Well i just got my 2003 vibe home and was looking at the stereo (how to remove it) then i looked at my bill of sale and it said the normal stuff ( i wanted to make sure that i didnt have the premium sound). And so after that i whent to a local sound shop to look for a HU and we started talking and he showed me his vibe and man was that thing shining and he showed me the under body and the "Spray on" rust inhibitor stuff and i thought it looked pretty cool so i decided to look under mine. Low and behold i look and see that it is an indopenet suspension and the AWD shaft. I was in shock. so i whent to look on the rear hatch to see if it said AWD (all the vibe is debadged) and it wasnt on there, then i looked at the bill on sale and it said nothing to. But then i looked on my incuance slip,it said AWD, so i was happy abount that. The dealer i bought it froms modo is "we'll take care of everything for you so u can just drive away''. Big mistake. But im still in aw that my dealer sold me an AWD vibe when it said nothing about it. I also put the info on KBB and it said they should have charged me more, but mabie it was a good deal.Mabie it was a typo, but now when i buy i another car i wont be like "i want this one right now" and try to get the prossess done so quick.so in finalizing this post is the AWD system reliable? or has it been known to break often? Im thinking of taking it back.

I love my AWD!!!granted it may not win at the dragstrips but It gets from point A to B without any problems!!Make sure your bill of sale and actual VIN's match!!!

I looked at my Bill of sale and acutal VIN and this is desturbing the vibe i bought.. #5Y2SM62834Z401286and the one on my bill of sale..#5Y2SL64823Z428185wow they lost 4 grand on that mistake...and thats why my bill of sale had a sunroof and i dont have one.basicly he whent into his office and did everything, i signed a few papers, took a survey and was off. he stuck the bill of sale into a folder with all of the other 3 trillion papers i got.

Better make sure the title has the correct VIN# on it or you may be screwed when you try to sell it or trade it in. I'd bring everything back and get it straightened out at the dealership. It will be much less of a pain to get it taken care of now than wait until later. I'd talk to the dealership manager to get it straightened out not the idiot that sold you the car.

Honest Mr State Patrol man/women. This is my car and not the one that got stolen from that dealer. LOL Tell it to the judge LOL , Said the trooper. I would get it fixed also.

In Mich, you may want to keep the AWD but I'd rather have the sunroof and and what feels like 50 more horses. 280 lbs less weight and 8 hp is something you can defenitely notice. Put 2 freinds in you car and that's the difference.

Well obviously you knew that the car you were buying didn't have a sunroof. Also obviously the dealer screwed up. Those used car salesmen are not alway the brightest bulb in the socket.Important thing is that your title matches your car.

call, your insurance company. ask them what's the vin they have listed. if the vin they have it's the same on your windshield, you're good to go. i'd put my money on the insurance having the same vin as the title. to double check, call your financer. ask them what vin they have listed. don't take back your vibe right away. they might want it back. honestly, i kinda wished i had gotten the AWD. keep that son a..!!!!

AWD vs GT the price difference wasnt that much new.But I would rather have the GT over the AWD.When you hit Lift, It is so much fun.Even with the clutch issues. and the GT also has 200 watt stereo, where the AWD doesnt. What ever you do, you should get the paper work straight before you run into serious trouble. But to each his own.It could also be a stolen car, I have been hearing that alot lately, and you will lose for sure.

The AWD is worth up to $2k more if low miles and excellent condition.

The SL in the VIN on the bill of sale means that one was a base. The numberr before the Z is the model year. The AWD you took home is a 2004, the base on the bill of sale was a 2003. Does the Vibe you drove home have white numbers on the tach and speedometer?THe VIN is the key, and you definitely need to check with both the insurance company and the state to make sure that you own and have insured the VIN that you are driving. You should probably call the dealer to make sure they understand that they sold you a 2004 AWD instead of a 2003 base. There have been a few people with problems in the AWD drive train, but no more than any of the other drive trains (and less than some).

The value just went up a grand. I'd call the dealer and work something out. It's not like he won't find out when he sells the other car.

I wouldn't mess with this anylonger - you NEED to go back to the Dealership and Straighten this out - TOO MANY legal issues could arise if you don't take care of this ASAP.

Will do... they were asking 10,000 for a black one and 14,000 for my AWD. But they listed them as 10,000 for my AWD and 14,000 for the black one. I can see were the police would think it was stolen i will go back to dealer. THnax for the input...i would have never thought of that.

Be sure and post and let us know what the final resolution is. This will be interesting. It looks like you bought a 2003 Base Vibe and thats what you have a bill of sale for. You were just given the wrong car to drive home. Looks to me like the easy answer, and I am sure the one the salesman will want to do, is just give you the correct car. But were you shown the 2004 and did you test drive it and was that represented as the car you were buying. The dealer cannot do this, show you a nice one and give you a clunker (if this is the case). I would first try to find out what the dealers resolution is before actually going there and surrendering your car. I am sure the dealer will just want to give you the right car. But if you never saw this car and it is not to your liking, get a lawyer fast. A used car dealer will always screw you and may already have.

Ok just got back from the dealer and i explained everything so there like heres the car you "really" bought. (removed). thats all i have to say. I got in it and look it around the block. How long are the brakes supose to last cuz these were SHOT. the belt sqeked insensently and when i came to a stop the engine SHOOK SO BAD (has yours did that???) my 04 didnt? i was litraly getting tosed around. i hated it. so i got back to the dealer and basicly walked in there and said i dont want that one! and there like "ok so well modify your payments then" and im like (removed)? the deal was 10,000 and thats it. and there like eather you give the car back for a refund or take the black one, other wise we have to modify your payments. and im like heck no! ive had it! So now im VIBELESS!! o well. i guess i wont get that kind of deal again!!! im never going back there again!!! and im going to report them to GM. Ill get a pic of the two vibes together in the parking lot now that my bro gave me my cam back. that makes me angry cuz i alreadly ordered a new HU for it. And had to call the inchurance company and cancel EVERYTHING, so even though i got a good deal, it really didnt pay to go through all this hassle. I think im going to go to a diffrent dealer and order an 06 FWD with sunroof and no monsoon cuz it sounds hard to take out. The used vibe was just to see if i liked it i was going to get rid of it sooner or later. i hope my 06 wont shake me as much as the black one did, i wonder why it did that?

Sounds like bad fuel to me... to make it shake. Bet they are glad your showed back up with their not sold vehicle. Its their fault you got the wrong keys and because of that you should have gotten that car instead of the crapper at your current deal.

Well at least it sounds like you got away without incurring any charges. At least I hope you did. Used car salesmen hate to lose a sale. There could have been any number of different problems to make that car shake not just bad fuel. I thought they may try to force the sale or at least come up with some kind of loan cancellation charges or something like that. Just be glad you were able to walk away from the whole mess.

That is Really ****ty on the Dealer's part - POOOOORRRRR Customer Service - They should have just eaten the difference and chalked it up to "Damn We F'd up" - I cannot believe they did that to you - One more reason I hate GM and the SCHMOE's they have working for them. The only reason I got the Vibe is because it has a TOYOTA drivetrain. I've noticed that Since my Dad retired - things have been getting really shady. Good luck and I would definately buy NEW from somewhere else.

The only thing that was kinda embarising is telling the inchurance company what happened...i havent got a bill from them but i hope they dont charge me for papers and the few days i drove it.there was no money down (we have bought a SUV from them before, 2005 GMC Yukon) so i was glad i didnt have to fight for money, plus i told them that if i had any trouble i was going to report them to GM (which i did anyways LOL) and tell the local press about it.So no one elses hase shaken like that? I was hoping that they all didnt do that.

To the point where plastic starts to rattle. I'd say the new one probably won't have that defect. It's good that you didn't get stuck with that car, it sounds like a real winner - kinda like the one I have. Glad to see you do the right thing and brought it back. It would only have been more trouble down the road! Hopefully you can find something good to buy from someone else.

My family has land up there and we visit T.C. a lot please tellus the name of the dealer and I wont ever go there, and warn my family about them.If they showed you the car you drove home it sounds like bait and switch to me. which is illegal in Michigan. They should have just change the paperwork and ate the differnce.

did you ever call the insurance and lender to see what vin they had on their records?cause if the lender had the vin the awd had. everything would've been legit. these boyscouts here always wanting to do the right thing.

Well whent back to dealer today again and described the inchurance situation, it took half an hour of talkn but they did make the diffrence up. which was really cool. And yes the lender had the lagit vin but i didnt want something happing to the vibe and if they were to check the vin for some odd reason (for parts or somin) and there was a messup with there records,i would have to had to fanagle that mess.***anyway***MY Grandma has fallen ill and i will be spending alot of time on the other side of the state in her quant town of Alpena, its ok, but nothing like Traverse! Anyway the dealer was Cliff A. They were much nicer today, and i noticed that the other sales man were giveing the guy that sold me the car a hard time. Sadly i kinda felt bad 4 him lol, but that image was quickly forgoton when i remembed that when i walked in there yesterday and they gave me the whole speal about "ur stuck with it!!"..... but in the end they appologized for it anyway. so i was happy about that! So i kindda feel bad talken so bad about them but when my g-ma whent in there she said she wanted a new CTS and they brought her out a used LUMINA...the guy pulls up...shes like whats this?!? hes like i thought u were kidding about getting a new car?!? shes like well if u guys cant take me serious then i guess u dont want my bussness. So that same day she whent accross town and bought a new Escalade and drove it over to the old dealer and the sales man was out there and she pulled up and rolled the window down and said i told u i wasnt kidding and drove away. -True Story!***SO***(i jump around alot when i write LOL)And when i first walked in there yesterday i was going to just say "f" it and say "ill just take the black one in exchange" " no big", but after the speal i quickly changed my mind.So in all i would like to thank you guys SO MUCH for asking my newbie questions and offering to help, YOU guys ROCK!Oh and i know this sounds bad i hope this wont be for a long time...but....if she does pass then i get the escalade...when she was writing her will she laughed about it, she was just "like have a good time in it and just think that im going to a better place"..shes so awsome

I would love to do that SO much what is the date or dates and the location of the event? Also times...I would have to admit that if i dont get a vibe before that and drive somin else it would be a bit embarising seeing that the yukon is well stock..except for a chrome grill, mud flaps, and possibly 20's this summer. This is my parents vehicle so the chanse me driveing down alone or wiht friends in that is slim LOL..thanx for the invite though i will se what i can fanagle!

No embarrassment at all even in not owning a Vibe or having whatever vehicle you bring be stock...my Vibe was completely stock at my first meet and to date it still has no performance mods...just some audio add-ons and LEDs under the dash, and some GrafxWerks decals. The meets are for the people more so than the cars, I think.

Already am McCoy has been the best dealer as far as service, and in Alcona, Alcona Motors have been real jerks, but there deals are a bit better there but i would gladly pay 500$ more for a dealer that is local and has better service...as far as i see it, you will only get a good deal if the car is on the lot and if u order it the price will be pretty close to what all the other dealers want.what i want is an 06 FWD, Monsoon system( i will add a better system later)Moon roof, leather, security package, comfort package, preimium package,Monotone package, Spoiler (up and mid as long as it doesnt interfear with the onstar antenna then i would not get onstar) The chrome rims off of gm accessories(i would get the 17 inch rims for the winter) i would like to get 25 % all around, Blue halogen headlamps like the BMW ones. Navigaiton system (portable one like Tom-Tom)rear cargo mat i think thats it. i would get the sprot package but the winter i go over too many snow banks so they would probably get destroyed. And currently with ordering ery thing for my 03 (i still want the stuff, i will add it in later) i am down to 12,000$ so my parents are doubling everything i make for my first car that i own for more than a week, so in reality i have 6,000 and i need to make between 6,000 and 10,000 on top of that. so i am currently looking 4 a job!
