Installing different brands

Would it really matter if the brand of speaker I install in the front is different from those in the back? Anything I should be looking out for? I'm thinking that as long as they're both aftermarket they'll sound better than stock. Thoughts? Edit: should have mentioned it's the 4 speaker stereo that I have.

Brand matching means nada for speakers. Generally, most aftermarket speakers will sound better than stock. There re exceptions, really cheap speakers might sound worse depending on what the stock stereo is. By really cheap I am talking about quality, not price.

Good Place to ask questions about Car Audio is:http://www.tune-town.com/generally Matching speakers (Front and Rear) is not a requirement, it all is based on Sound quality, and personal preferences. The most common cause of "Blowing" a speaker is Under Powering them. Under powering a speaker causes distortion and that is what normally "Blows" a speaker. I'm not sure what Head Unit (Factory/aftermarket) you are running, and I don't know the power rating on the Stock Head Unit. But I can tell you from personal experiance to be carful if you are using a stock head unit and unamplified Aftermarket speakers. Normally Factory systems are matched. Head unit output + speaker Wattage + Speaker Ohms = optimum setup for Factory Components.
