Hey everyone. I just picked up my 04 Vibe tonight so I just wanted to check in and introduce myself. I can't wait to ask some questions and have them answered by real people with real cars. Thanks and take care.

BlueCrush, I saw your car online before I registered, very nice! Mine happens to be Neptune also. I am hearing alot of talk about a cold air intake. Do you have one and if not would you get one. How much are they roughly?

depending on the make and where you buy it. CAI (Which IMO is a must for Vibes) can range from $100 to $300. I bought mine for $300something CAD from Injen. You can buy them also from e-bay for cheap. Cosmo sells good ones to for low prices as well.

I'm also Canadian looking to buy a Injen CAI - Where did you get yours from? $300 doesn't sound too bad - it can be quite frusterating ordering over-seas and from the US - conversion rates and shipping will really get to you - plus if I ever had to send it back for some reason. I'm also curious, did you install it yourself?

I am not sure the going costs in USD though for intakes. I know cosmo from Montreal were $150 a couple years back. I would have bought one but they had no polished ones. They had red or blue which neither would have matched with my car.

Got my Cosmo CAI from a member here a couple years ago for $75 in great condition. Keep your eyes peeled for members selling stuff on this forum as well as on ebay. Becareful though on ebay I wouldn't buy any off brand cold air intakes. A lot of my friends have had fitment problems with the off brands.

Welcome! I'll save you some of the anxiety I had after buying mine used... yep, the rust under the seats is 'normal' and doesn't mean your car was flooded at some point ..and yep, if you have an automatic it sometime downshifts HARD when you let off the throttle suddenly while going slightly downhill during daylight savings time.Have fun with the VIBE... Envy > Neptune though

Thanks Bluecrush. Nice ride!Question: I want to get a rear bumper protector for my Vibe, scratched from previous owner, and was wondering if you have seen any cheaper than $60? GM must have lost their minds. That is too much for a little strip of rubber...agree?MetalBulldog

I'm also curious, did you install it yourself?answer: first attempt- yes, but he did something wrong and blew the MAF (day before MI Supermeet 2)second attempt- no, I and another member installed it at the MI Supermeet 2third attempt- he gets to do himself. you should look at neverenufstuff.com as some of his suppliers are in Canada. Usually he includes the shipping in his pricing too. Ptuning.com is another place and check some of your local shops as well. If i remember correctly, Mav ordered his through a group buy based in Calgary. Vibechick brought it with her on the plane to TO for the MI Meet. Can't remember where they bought it from. Also, check on ebay and in the For Sale threads both here and at matrixowners.com. used CAI are just as good as new ones, plus a lot less. Most sellers will work with you on the whole import/export thing too. good luck finding one!

Welcome to Genvibe! I have the rear bumper protector, and it has saved the top of the bumper more than a few times. Here's a link to GM PartsDirect for the part.
