OK, I am researching getting Sirius for my husband. He drives a 97 Jetta. How do we hook up the Sirius receiver to his car? Is the FM modulator the only option?Note that I'm in Canada, so our hardware is a smidge different. This is the receiver I'm looking at.$99.99 at bestbuy.ca (and probably in-store too).

Tried searching for a VW or Jetta owner's group? They might be able to give you more definitive answers.I don't know, other than using a tape adapter if his radio has a cassette player.

Yes, I found the VWvortex forums, and I'm getting some install tips there. Those guys are just as hard core as we are. I was hoping to not have to do a major antenna install (I want to be able to pull the receiver into the Vibe too!!), but I'll have to talk to some 18 year old nerd at Best Buy to confirm that.

You may have to buy another antenna for the Vibe, since it has to be mounted on the outside of the vehicle and it would probably be a pain to move it all the time. But as for the FM transmitter, I have found the internal one in the Sportster is very powerful and is all I need. It overpowers any radio station that's on that frequency. So I would try that out first, as it's certainly the easiest option.

I have the Xact visor mount and the FM signal it puts out is great. I can even have it in my car in the garage and tune my stereo in the house to that station and listen to it inside.
