I read somewhere in here that cleaning the dash with a little armor all would do it, well I used Wet and it did just as good. My dash doesn't have the ugly scrapes on it now when you just barely touch it or wipe it off. Very nice....

I'm pretty sure that I read in the manual that you should NOT use ArmorAll because the dash has a matte finish to prevent glare in bright sunshine. ArmorAll will tend to leave a shiny finish. I was glad to see that Pontiac chose the non-glare finish because I've had real problems with glare in previous vehicles.

ArmorAll is now available in a "Low-Gloss" version.Remember, ArmorAll is not are cleaner. It just protects the dash. You need to use a good vinyl cleaner first to clean the dash and then use Low-Gloss ArmorAll to protect it.

I have detered using ArmorAll because of the high gloss. Thanks for the info on Low-Gloss. I will have to look for it. I don't like the little scratches either.

The best thing that I have found to clean the dash is the armor all cleaning wipes. The ones that say cleaning--not the ones that actually armor all the dash. They are lint free and clean up is a snap!!!! Hope that helps---

They must have something for dash in X5. Let us know!

Right now I just use a swiffer cloth. I don't have any scratches in the dash area so its mostly just dust I'm trying to get off.

And in fact if you take care of your car you should not have any scratches on the dash in the first place. It's not a storage shelf. People forget, that the air bag (part of the dash!) deployes quite violently and if you have even harmless sunglasses or cell phone sitting on the dash, they may easily go through your head like no tomorrow!

If you all read the original message, you would see that there was nothing about putting things on the dash. Dust on the dash comes and goes. Just talking about keeping it clean...that is all. And as for your opinion on PUTTING things on the dash, it is ONLY YOUR opinion to not put things on the dash. People can put things up there if they want to or not. But like I said that is just how YOU feel. A lot of you in here must be really young, and don't have any children.

Try some stuff called Formula 2000 by Turtle wax. It's not as shinny as armor all but its not as greasy as armor all either(I don't know about you guys but I think armor all is way too greasy even after you take out the excess) and not to mention it lasts a loooong time.

Would you rather prefer multiple choice posts for married with children only, or we can appreciate different opinions/ideas?

Just for those who drive vehicles with winshield glare from the dash. I've found that wearing polarized sunglasses all but enliminates that problem.

I just used ArmorAll protectant wipes on my dash and door panels the other day. (They come in a plastic can like baby wipes.) I would get the occasional light scratch mark from fingernails on the dash (I never put anything up on my dash, BTW, that is what the built in tray is for on the back of the passenger seat--there is even a little lever on the driver side of the passenger seat in the back so the driver can fold down the seat without having to reach all over the car, if there is a passenger in the seat, they can hold the stuff for a minute). The protectant wipes took the fingernail scratches right out and DID NOT leave the dash very shiny at all. In fact, I was disappointed. The door panels were left a little shiny, but not the matte finish on the dash. No glare and no mess on the windows. Definitely the wipes don't make as much shine as the spray. And the Turtle Wax Formula 2001 spray protectant was an excellent product I used to use on my former cars. I used to use it before shows. Not as greasy feeling and the shine lasted longer.
