Are they really worth it? I really want one so badly but a few places have been trying to con me into thinking I need bypasses and extra crap for the two-way remote starters, after telling them that I know I don't need them- they reduce the price but it's still expensive... Ranges are from $275 - $400 dollars. Does anyone know of a good shop that I could buy from and have them install it @ in Western NY? What brand/model is recommended?

Pretty much any of them are going to be expensive. I found the Viper 590XV on ebay a year and a half ago for $130, but I installed it myself, saving around $130-$200 in labor. Of course I also installed them for Circuit City, so I knew what I was doing. You're going to have to comb ebay, then find a shop willing to do it, but most will be expensive.

sure they are worth the money they cost. a better alrm in all too. everybody knows how sounding alarms go un noticed and thiefts usuallt have their way with most alrms. atleast this way, you'll know what is going on in your car. then you can go outside with your desert eagle and explain to the crook why it would beneficial for him to leave.i agree with jahntasa. the install isn't very difficult if you know what you are doing. make sure you commit yourself to do it if you buy on ebay. as almost all installers will charge full price for the installation. sometimes it will be cheaper to buy from whomever is installing it. i've been thru this before, and the cheapest was a guy who claimed experience. eventually i did it myself. other than that dealers and actual shops wuill want in the region of 200$. ebay, you're looking at 100$+.good hunting.
